Ratings & Reviews for IRWIN 4 -Piece 1/4-in x Assorted Woodboring Spade bit Drill Bit Set

What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these spade drill bits for exceptional sharpness and fast, clean cutting through wood. The short-shaft design is highly valued for drilling in tight spaces like floor joists and remodeling work. Most reviewers highlight outstanding value for the price, with many repurchasing or buying multiple sets. The hex shank works well with impact drivers. A few note the bits dull faster on hardwoods, and some wish for longer shafts or storage cases, but these minor concerns barely diminish overall satisfaction and strong recommendations.

Shorter bits
Would RecommendI got them because they're shorter than normal bits. I used them to drill holes in studs and needed the room for the drill. If I did not have a quick bit holder, it would be just right. That is why I gave it 4 stars. Need to be about 1 to 2 inches shorter

Too short but good bits
Would RecommendThe bits worked well but the shaft is quite short. I got the job done and the bit is just fine. I would recommend this to someone looking to add to their tool box.

Works great and as intended
Would RecommendThese work great and I like that they fit in my trust impact. I only wish Lowe’s carried this set 2” longer, which is why the 4 instead of 5.
Great addition to my set
Would RecommendThis kit of larger size bits compliments the other smaller everyday bits that I use in regular basis. I went into the store to buy 3/4 bit but decided the value of this kit was a better buy for my jobs.
Woodboring drill bits
Would RecommendOnly needed the 1 1/2" size, but purchased package, based on package price versus single bit price. Since purchase, have used three of the four. All were very sharp. Very pleased with the clean bore results of each bit.
Great Bits
Would RecommendThese bits cut a MUCH cleaner hole than standard spade bits. The hex shank allows you to just pop them in and out of an impact driver quickly.
Great Quality
Would RecommendLove the versatility of this product. Stays sharp for much longer than I expected.
Spade bits
Would RecommendUse for drilling holes for electrical lines and water lines
