What Customers Are Saying
The product features a tri-flute design that allows for efficient and quick drilling through various types of wood. Many users praise its speed and ability to create clean, straight holes. However, some report issues with durability, especially with the smaller 1/4-inch shanks, noting the bits can dull or break prematurely. There are also concerns about potential splintering or damage on the backside of the wood due to the aggressive cutting action. Overall, the product seems suitable for many woodworking tasks, but users should pair it with a powerful drill to get the best results, and the 3/8-inch shank versions are preferred for more demanding applications.

SO NICE!
Would RecommendI bought on a whim, and was pleasantly impressed. I am familiar with the Irwin spade type bores, but this is is nice to work with. I have a few triple studs to bore through, and this tool makes it look as easy as it really is. It also seems to stay productive when the spade type loses to wood dulling. The 3/4" works well for all my wiring so far. Great addition to the toolbox.

Superb drill bit
Would RecommendIf you are looking for a drill bit that delivers what it promises, this is the one. However, it's performance is contingent on 1, the proper tool for driving the bit, 2 the thickness of the wood. If you try to use a battery operated drill, good luck. They do not have enough torque to cut through the wood at the rate of an auger tipped bit. A corded 1/2 inch drill will do the job just fine. If you are drilling wood with a thickness of 3 inches or greater. On occasion, it may be necessary t...

Great bit
Would RecommendI was running electrical wire and this made things a bit easier. Better have a strong drill to use this bit, 3/8 drill won't cut it.

Not impressed
Would Not RecommendI purchased a 3 piece set of speedbore max bits recently , needing to bore 3/4 in. holes through 1 1/2 in clear pine for dowels. Using bit in my drill press, after about 12 holes the bit would no longer cut and get lodged into the hole. The bit looks as if I was drilling metal. Scored and burred from the cutting tips all the way up the flutes. Nothing but garbage. Price was right, but you get what you pay for
