Would Not RecommendBought twice (elsewhere), both did not line up flat and straight. Sent one back then ordered the second. Second vise also had issues with the screw sticking. Both vises would grip material with only a very thin line at the top of the plates with a gap of about a quarter of an inch at the bottom and a smaller gap left to right. Irwin is now off my list for tools.

Would RecommendHigh strength vise for woodworking. You'll need to have some scrap wood to get it completely set up. I'd recommend checking out one of the many YouTube videos.

There weren't any instructions in the box but it wasn't difficult to figure out and install on my workbench. It has plenty of clamping force but doesn't have a notch for dog holes. I'm impressed with the build quality, but if you want to a vise for woodworking there are better options.
