Occasional use bits. Not for the professional.
The bits are a three or four use, essentially disposable set of bits. The case is a bonus. I don’t like the fact that these and most other drill bits sold currently are impractical or impossible to sharpen. Not surprising. Our society has become addicted to disposable, cheap everything. These bits are no exception. I have (English) Stanley bits from the 1960’s used for stair work that I have been sharpening for decades. We used to do it, we could still do it. Stick with a spade bit
Would Not RecommendTried using the bits to bore through studs as well as newel posts. After about 5 newel posts, the 5/8” bit I was using pretty much stopped cutting through the posts and started burning it’s way through. After switching to a different bit, same thing happened. Only good thing about these is the case they come in. Sturdy, keeps bits together, and secures nicely.
