Elegant and silent !

I looked at a variety of ceiling fans on display at Lowes in Weymouth Mass , and purchased a Hunter fan , the Waldon model . The style and how it looked made me keep coming back to it for comparison to the many others displayed . I bought it for how it looked , and I knew that the Hunter company was well known in ceiling fans . NOT EASY TO INSTALL

I am usually not the one t write reviews but this product deserves a little time. When finding reviews about this product I am surprised to see mainly positive reviews. This fan is probably as good as the fans in the $80 - $100 range, I did purchase it because of the supposedly easy installation. The "5 minute" claim on the box is absolutely false. So difficult

This fan was supposed to be easy assembly. It took my best friend, who is a contractor, about 2 hours to install. Nothing went together the way it was supposed to and the screws are very difficult to insert. After about 14 months, the lights stopped working. Thinking I could just replace the light pull, I took it apart only to find that is not possible. I had to order a whole wire harness kit which was $25 because it was just out of warranty (of course). Looks Good

The fan is a terrific modern update for my 1910 craftsman home, without being ultra contemporary... It fits. We have actually purchased 3 of these thus far.

Would Never Buy Again

Purchased fan in March for extra bedroom. Within a month the fan and light stopped working. Returned to Lowe's for a replacement. Now it's eight months later and the second fan and light just stopped working. This in a room that is hardly used. Now I have to buy a whole new fan. What trash!

Poor Performance Quality

I purchase 2 of these 52in Hunter Waldon 5 Blade Brush Nickel ceiling fans because of the style that matched the decor in our new home just less than a year ago. 1 of the 2 ceiling fans is still workng, but the other one is not. Love Hunter Fans

Third Hunter fan purchased. Install was complicated by owning a house that is over 120 years old. Replacing all old fans and lights in house. Fans run quiet. Having guided pull chains away from bowl decreases any rattle effect from movement of fan. Will purchase only Hunter from now on. Putting blades on was complicated by very tight pegs and blade holes. Used lubricated ointment and blades just snapped on. Will have only Hunter fans in home from now on. Love them.

Very good looking fan

Since most ceiling fans work pretty much the same, I decided to purchase this Hunter fan fan based solely on the looks. It was more expensive than most of the fans I looked at, but the looks sold us. Pretty easy to install, but FIVE minutes, forget about it!!

Very easy to install and they look great. I purchased two and only had to balance one, the other one was perfect out of the box.

Defective out of the box

As others have said, it is nothing like a 5-minute installation. We were unable to install it as a flush-mount because of the position of the screws, and since we'd just installed a flush-mount of another brand in the kitchen, we do know what we're doing. The pull-chain for the fan was difficult to pull from the beginning and now, after less than 5 months, it's stopped working entirely. Waldon 5 Minute Fan

Takes more than 5 minutes but less than 30. Fairly easy install, just follow the directions. Once installed it works perfectly!

Good quality fan, not a 5 minute install

I have purchased three of these fans and while I haven't had them very long, they appear to be a good quality fan. The fan comes with 3 incandescent bulbs, but I prefer to install CFL. Because they are candelabra base you are limited on what you can install. I use the 60w equivalent bulbs. However, I remove the 6 screws that hold the tri socket base and push the base up to the top screw holes, where I then put back the three top screws (this will makes sense when you look at the lamp. Outstanding fan.

It truly does take more than 5 minutes. Only additional thing I would like to have seen is an inclusion of 2 screws and two washers for the ceiling box which the fan support attaches to.

Not a good choice

The fan only worked on low speed ( no high or medium ) and the pull chains were missing.

Do not purchase this fan

After only 2 months the pull chains on BOTH the fan and light no longer work, making this fan/light completely useless. I now have to purchase another and also pay to have it installed once again. Also, this is not a "5 minute" fan, even for someone who has installed fans before.

Good Product

"5 minute fan" is misleading. "30 minute fan" is more realistic. It took me about an hour at a leisurely pace. I haven't installed a ceiling fan in several years, so my skills were a little rusty. The instructions were easy to follow and the parts fit together well. After installing this one, doing another one would only take about 30 minutes. The fan looks good and is quiet. No complaints.

Hunter Waldon is not worth bringing home

Hunter used to be synonymous with quality...not any more! I purchased 3 of these Waldon fans, and have had issues with 2 of the 3. The newest one had an issue with the wiring harness after less than a year. The fan would only work on low speed, which is worthless. These fans don't move much air on high speed...certainly not like Hunter Fans I have owned in the past. The light kit on the second fan went out, after only 2 years, and they no longer make replacement parts for this model. It appears ...
