What Customers Are Saying
The ceiling fan box is a sturdy, well-designed product that provides a solid mounting platform. It features a solid, galvanized metal construction that can support heavy ceiling fans up to 150 lbs. The angled mounting holes allow the box to be securely attached to ceiling joists at an angle, and it includes all necessary hardware for easy installation. While some minor issues were mentioned, such as the need to shim the mounting bracket and the challenge of fitting the wire grommet, the overall consensus is that this is a high-quality, reliable ceiling fan box that makes the installation process much easier and safer.

Easy to install from below the ceiling.
Would RecommendAs an electrician, I installed many ceiling fans in my career. This box can be installed from below the ceiling. It does need to be secured to a ceiling joist, but this can easily be done without crawling in an attic. Of course, you still need to sort out power, which is relatively easy to "fish" from an existing source.

Versitile ceiling fan boxes
Would RecommendI'm doing new construction and these boxes provide a very solid mounting for a fan, but I'm also impressed with how well they would work with old work where you only have a hole in the ceiling to work with.

sturdy light/fan box
Would RecommendAfter having 2 plastic boxes fail and drop the chandeliers to the ground I replaced them with this metal box. Easy to install and I no longer need to worry about a fixture falling from the ceiling. In the next house there will be no plastic ceiling boxes

Raco Box Perfect!
Would RecommendI got in a jamb trying to hang a new ceiling fan finding the existing box with one nail in the joists. This RACO box worked perfectly! It’s rated to support 70 pounds, but I think the house will come down before it does! Thanks Lowe’s!

Ceiling fan is very secure.
Would RecommendThis is a great way to mount a ceiling fan in old work without having to climb up into a hot and dusty attic. The most difficult part of the install is removing the old plastic electrical box and the 2 nails holding the old box in place.

feels solid... should do the trick
Would RecommendI got it installed, but not without some headaches. I watched the video twice before starting. The video makes it look simple, so I figured it would take me 10 minutes max. I dry fitted the box to the bracket before starting and noticed that it only fits one way - the holes are not in the center. It's pretty obvious which way it needs to go. First problem I ran into was... my drill/socket would not grip the screw heads enough to drive them into the joist. It just kept hopping and striping ...

solid product
Would RecommendMy kids ceiling fan almost fell completely out of the ceiling about a week after moving into our new house. The original plastic box in the ceiling had stripped out screw holes, so having the fan on high wiggled them loose. I bought this as an upgrade and replacement. Instructions were straight forward and installation was very easy. This was my first time replacing one of these. I'll probably have to do the other room as well, since the fan appears to be doing the same thing.
