pre-drilled and broke the head off bolt 3

Much like one of hte other reviews - i broke the head off one of the lag screws. I pre-drilled the hole but clearly it was not wide enough diameter. Disapointed that this just flew straight off. Now i need to see what my options are - drill a new hole, try and extract this one. argh.. please include a recommended drill diameter for predrilled holes - would have solved my issue.

Used to install a ceiling fan into an existing light box. The original was too big for the flush mount fan but this box was perfect

Didn't Work as Well As Expected

Based on all the other reviews here I expected this box to work well. I got it to work but it was a much bigger hassle than expected. I was doing an old work installation of a fan where a light fixture used to be. My main issue is they give you about a 5-10 degree screw angle into the bracket on the joist/stud to work with... I have a very small cordless drill but I still had a difficult time getting the screws in good & straight. Do they understand that I can't fit my whole drill into the dryw...

As expected.

Doesn't feel cheap. Does what it needs to do. Everything is in the box.

Angled mounting holes are a plus

I like how the box accounts for the mounting screws being screwed at an angle with mounting holes at an angle to match. I used other boxes where this was not the case and the screws were not secured flush with the box.

Heavy Duty box

Great product. Very strong ceiling box replacement; much better than the ones that rely on the drywall for support.

Best fan box out there

Pro electrician here. I buy 99.9% of my materials from an electrical supply house. I still go to Lowe's for these. Superior product compared to everything else I've tried. Pricey but worth it. My 275 pound self can hang from it and it won't even bend.

Good, but not perfect

I had to install a new ceiling fan and needed a new deep box for it. This one did the trick, but getting the holes in the top of the box to line up with the threads in the bracket was not happening. Fortunately, I was able to use a 1/4' bit & my drill to slightly enlarge the hole in the box. The other issue is with the small flange that protrudes from the bracket. I had to file that down in order to get the box in the correct orientation to secure the box to the bracket.

Sturdy design and easy to install. Supports 75Lb or 150Lb fixtures.

Not what was pictured

Drove all the way to Lowe's only to find out the product wasn't as seen here. The bracket was welded to the unit. The item sku was the same, so either it's old stock or someone screwed up with ordering the correct stock.
