Minimal Light
We placed this on our stairs that faces west and gets a decent amount of sun (4 hrs). We get a very faint light from it that is of little use. Maybe this light needs a spot where it gets more sun.

Test before install
Would RecommendYes, they are bright. Installed these lights on every other step. I bought 6 for our deck stairs. 4 of the 6 worked. Exchanged for two more. Those two do not work. Exchanging again. Once installed - and working - they do look very good. It comes down to if the extra effort (and multiple Lowes' runs) is worth it or not.

Stair lighting
Would RecommendI put these small led strip lights in in my yard for low to ground lighting and made copper shrouds for them to help aim their bright lights at my architectural yard feature. I also hid them behind rocks and tucked them out of site. They are great and very versital for many low voltage applications.
