Nice screws. Used for new decking. No need to pre -drill holes. Excellent product. Comes with T20 star bit but did not last long. Keep an extra bit handy

Great product

Am building using rough cut sawmill limber. These start easily and drive without much effort using an 18 volt impact drill. Need to purchase a 20 or 25 pound keg to save money but that size is not available at store so minus 2 stars. These blend in visually with the wood to become invisible. Next lot I purchase will be green so I can verify the screw spacing.

This is a great product. I buy all sizes in bulk. My crews are slways robbing my star screw buckets but not others. We use than for everything from small framing, window/door setting/ decks and the list goes on. They can be removed without breaking too. Truly great product.

Excellent screws

Star head screws are a must for your fastener tote. Used about 15 the day I bought them and all drove home straight and true.

They work great they don't slip like the old phillips head screws. I would recommend them to anyone.

Decking screws

I'm replacing a 25 year old 10x12 deck with all new materials except the 2x8s under the deck. The old deck was erected using nails. I used the countersinking head deck screws, 2" screws for the floor decking (1x6) and 3" and 3 1/2" screws everywhere else. The screws are easy to use, and grip better than any nail could. The screws come with a drill bit.

These screws worked very well on a wooden fence. You may have a 9/16" thick plank and a 1.5" thick 2x4 railing, so this size fits the bill perfectly. As other commenters have stated, the head could be slightly larger, the shank could be painted a bright color while keeping the head brown to make it easier to find dropped screws but still blend with the wood when installed, but those features would add to the cost of this premium-priced product. Best Fence Screws Ever!!!

I've used thousands of deck screws in fences, decks, and other home repair/build projects. I've always used Phillips head since I was familiar with them and had a few #2 and #3 bits. WOW was I crazy for trying to stay with the older type screws. These star type screws have a self tapping tip which make them go in easy and I built a new fence and deck (over 2000 screws) and only used 1 bit instead of about 10 bits like before. And not one head stripped out either. A++++

Best Screws Around

I used to buy the square drive deck screws from my local lumber yard because that's what they handled. Square drive is better than phillips drive anyday. These star-drive screws have sold me. They are the best. Much less effort driving long screws and never strip out. The bit actually seems to hold itself in the head once you start the screw and very little push is needed after that.
