Best "Universal Use" Outdoor Wood Screws

In my humble opinion, these are the best style of outdoor wood screws (varying lengths as needed, of course), period. Love the "Star" (Torx) drive head. For nonstop, unflinching work I only use "Brand" Star Drives, not cheap 5 for a buck. The cheap ones quickly distort, damage screws and raise blood pressure.

#8 x 2-in Countersinking-Head Polymer-Coated Star-

#8 x 2" screws comes with its own star drive head to work with a drill. I used a cordless drill to put up 3 sections of 2 x 4 and picket boards, They went in with ease on the pressure treated lumber with zero head strip outs. I would recommend these screws to anyone.

Deck Screws

I really like the star drive. It's so much better than the cross head drive. The Star drive is more stablehand doesn't jump out of the head like the cross head drive does. I will be buys this stile screw from now on.

Work as Advertised

Screws do a good job of penetrating the wood to start and grab the wood with good holding strength. No just have to see if they last long. 2 years and counting to far

Nothing like screwing things together rather than nails. These are especially coated for exterior use and the torque head makes for easy secure work.

Countersinking-Head Polymer-Coated Star-Drive Deck

I love these things!!! They are so much easier to use than the drywall and deck screws I've used for years. I hope the price comes down so I can switch to using them exclusively.

Screw first then Nail later

Screws away last longer, but you could use ring nails, it might be a little bit faster.

Deck Screws

Excellent for exterior decking. I used the same time of screws three years ago and when I repaired a few boards this year, many of the screws I took out, were still intact.

Worked Well

I used these (and some treated lumber) to build a couple plant stands. They were very easy to use. I liked the necessary bit being included in the box as well as an approximate screw count on the labelling.

They last in treated lumber. Look new after 2 year

Used these to hold on treated plywood when I was building my shed. Used them for years and they don't seem to mind the treated lumber.

A much better screw to use in exterior projects and treated lumber.

Quality fasteners

I just purchased a 5lb box. I recently was taking apart a set of Adirondack chairs that had been in my back yard for about 5-6 years. I had used these screws back then also. Minus some dirt, they were like brand new.

worst purchase ever

I purchased 5 lbs these screws I have built a lot of decks and fence’s these are by far the worst deck screws I have ever used!!!! they do not lock in to the tip very good keep falling out and put pressure on them they turn to the side. I hands to hold the screw with my fingers to get it started into the wood. My hand hurts from the drill slipping of the screw and drilling my fingers do not buy

I have never had so many problems with screws ever

We had 2 major projects that called for these screws. We used 5 cases of screws in a 2 week period. This box of screws would not start on most of the tries. Some we just had to throw out. We got to the point when we found one that would start we kept using it to start a hole so we could use the rest in the box.
