What Customers Are Saying
The deck screws are generally durable and easy to use, with a star-drive design that prevents stripping and allows for easier installation. Most customers are satisfied with the screws' strong holding power and performance for outdoor wood projects. However, some users reported issues with thread quality, difficulty countersinking, and inconsistent quality between batches. While a small percentage experienced problems, the positive reviews suggest these are generally high-quality and well-performing screws for most applications.

Would RecommendI use them for almost every out door wood project. From the reinforced floor frame of my new shed. To the outer wall of the 6 above ground gardens (built 2 years ago with 2.4 tons of soil in ea). Or my ground lvl deck. Holds strong rarely fails, and counter sinks it self when driven with an impact driver. Note my honey do list is log any suggestions on how to get my wife off Pinterest?

Deck screws
Would RecommendBeen using these for years. The T20 heads are fabulous. Throw away your Phillips head screws and use these.

Star bit size
Would Not RecommendAfter bringing these home to finish my project I was disappointed they were not T25. These are T20 and required going back to get the impact bits that fit and to be sure they would work with the Dewalt magnetic sleeve.
Must have got a bad box
Would RecommendI normally use Hillman screws for all of my building projects so buying this 5 lb box seemed to be a no brainer. While installing barn siding on my cabin, they just took FOREVER to start each screw. No, I wasn't using plywood. It was raw wood pine and the self tapping grooves seemed to be gummed up with coating and did nothing. It won't stop me from using Hillman screws, but I think this box was coated and boxed on a Friday afternoon. The star drive is far superior to the Philips head drive and ...
Best Screws Around!
Would RecommendI simply LOVE these screws. I've used them in the past a couple of years ago and they really hold well and never rust. Star drive makes driving them a simple, straightforward task, without the slippage of Philips heads.

The Bit Driver that lasts "Star-Drive Deck Screws"
Would RecommendI used the Star-Drive Deck Screws" normally the bit driver is striped and just lasts a little over a pound. This screw driver bit lasted the whole box and still going. I believe it is the Screws not the driver. Thanks for a great product.

Screws
Would RecommendI had to purchase these 1 5/8 inch screws because there were no 1 3/8 inch screws. I am installing a picket fence with one inch pickets screwed to 1" X 4" boards. But of course one inch really means 3/4 inch in wood so I am dealing with 1 1/2 inch depth so I needed screws less than 1'1/2" in length. So I had to screw these at an angle or they would protrude through the other side of the fence.

different brands
Would Not RecommendI started my first fence using the hillman brand at my regular store. These use a T-25 torx bit. They work wonderfull and have held up nicely.Yesterday I stopped off at another lowes and bought the last box of tan 1 5/8 deck screws they had but the brand was grip-right The package was opened and the free bit was missing so i figured i had a couple left.I was wrong!Grip Rite uses a T-20 bit and the depth of the screw pocket is shallow making it difficult to keep the screw straight and not strip the...
Highly Recommended
Would RecommendAfter discovering these torx head screws I nm ow use them exclusively in place of regular or Phillips head screws. Used about 4 lbs of these on a big project without any problems. No more hollowed out screw heads.
