Ratings & Reviews for Greenworks 24-volt 10-in Straight Shaft Battery String Trimmer
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the trimmer for its lightweight, ergonomic design and cordless convenience, with many noting it outperforms previous gas models. Reviewers highlight powerful performance on typical yard tasks, quiet operation, and lack of fumes as major improvements. The 2-in-1 trimmer and edger functionality is frequently cited as practical and time-saving. Some report issues with the auto-feed string mechanism, occasional line breakage, and battery life concerns under heavy use, but these drawbacks are far outweighed by overall satisfaction and strong performance.

The method to feed the string needs improvement.
Would Not RecommendI tried to edge my sidewalk but the string only lasted a few feet before I had to “bump” the spool for more string. Greenworks needs to improve the engineering so that the string feeds itself. The only practical use of this tool for me is to trim around one tree in my yard!

Do not purchase
Would Not RecommendWe purchased this at the end of summer 2021. One battery will not charge. The string will not automatically feed. The machine will run for few seconds and then stops then it will come on for a few seconds and then quit. We are tried of trying to get this to work and shopping for a gas one. We have several other green works items and sure hope they will last longer than this item. We really enjoyed using last year for a few weeks. It is lightweight an was easy to crank. We would be happy if it ...

Good for older females.
I’m a 68 year old petite female, and this trimmer is light weight. No pulling to start, just a push of a button and off I go!

Works
It is a weed eater. It is not super powerful, but if it is just grass.... it cuts it.

String feed is lousy
Would Not RecommendThis is the 2nd trimmer I've purchased - the first one (I thought was single string, it was a duel. Guess it was my error. The 2nd one I just received on the 15th.) Just began to edge and the string was gone? Tried to get it to feed per instruction book - nothing. I am a 75 year old female and have been dragging a corded trimmer around. Thought how nice and easy this would be! Wrong! I couldn ' t get the spool lid off, my 78 year old dis-abled husband helped, got the line back out. Fiv...

Good Light Weight Trimmer
I don't have a lot of heavy duty trimming to do, so this trimmer works well for me. It is light weight and uses the same 24 v battery my other tools use. It is perfect for me.

Powerful, quiet trimmer
Would RecommendA very light, quiet trimmer with a smooth auto-feed. It seems powerful enough, although I don't have a lot of tough grass or weeds on my small lot to test it on.

24v trimmer
Would RecommendWorks well , doesn’t have a power of a gas trimmer, but it works well around the household,

Lots of power!
Lots of power, used this to edge and cut weeds. Just need to tap to extend more line instead of my usual autofeed. Near the end, one line of the dual line head disappeared, and had to spend time figuring out how to get it out since there was no instruction. Remove the cap by pushing the tabs, wind the strings tight and wedge it in a slot on the spool. Put cover back on lining up the string to the holes and lightly pull. Power on trimmer and tap to see it works.

Love it!
Would RecommendBought in Feb 2021. Used it once on my entire yard and ran out of string. Tried for months to get a replacement spool. Finally company sent me a free one. Buy where to purchase an additional replacement spool? So frustrating to try to find it. Otherwise, I love this trimmer !

Lightweight, easy to use, plenty of power for small jobs
Would RecommendI bought this trimmer one month ago and have used it weekly to clean up the edging around my yard. It is lightweight, easy to use, and has plenty of power and charge to clean up my entire (small) yard. For those looking for an affordable, eco yard-trimming solution, I recommend it.
