Ratings & Reviews for Generac Gas-Powered 8125 Starting / 6500 Running Watt Gasoline Single fuel Portable Generator

Overall, very good quality and features.

Just bought this a month ago and haven't had the need to use it yet. But I did have to assemble the handle, wheels, add oil and gas and start it. My review is solely based on that. The wheels were relatively easy to assemble, keeping in mind that the machine is heavy and you will need to lift it on blocks, or use a helper. They give you a perfectly shaped funnel to add the oil. Don't lose it. The handles are easy to install and conveniently fold down when not in use. They make it very eas...

Great generator!!!

Only used 1 weekend so far, easy setup and started on first push on electric start all weekend!!! Love it!!!

I bought my unit based on its dual fuel capabilities however starting it in LP mode is a bit of a challenge.

Haven’t received replacement

Bought generator dec 1st and still not straightened out

Great valve

Great generator. So happy with it. Starts so easy runs smoothly.

Will run the whole house.

Bought generator on Amazon black Tuesday. Still breaking it in. Electrician said it was a good product. Starts easy with on or two pulls . Hope I never have to use it to run the house but if bad weather sets in I will be ok.

Luckily have not had to use it yet but our old one was a generic and we were happy with it so sure this one will be good also

Super handy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super durable and handy. We have a winter storm coming and I feel totally prepared because we have this thing! It is super heavy and we keep it in the garage.

Great performance!

Performed as expected. Reliable power when needed during a short power outage.

We bought 6 generator for our excavating company very happy with them

Nice generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This geneator will be great when we are boondocking with our RV! It requires gasoline which is a minus for me because of the smell but at the same time, it is easy to find and purchase. This is a very heavy item, and you will need a friend to move it around!

Quality Generator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Generac 5500 generator was very simple and easy to put together. Adding oil and fuel easy as well. Start-up with manual startup was fairly easy. This unit also comes with a battery for an electric start which is pretty cool. The load can handle several small appliances such as a refrigerator, freezer and a TV or you can use it to run a single 220 volt HVAC system by itself. Moving the unit is a breeze as it comes with a handy handle that fo...

Greta feture and the phone call to register it was

Very happy with the product, I purchased it two months ago

Good product

It worked well the one time we’ve had to use it already.

Solid, well-made unit.

This generator is everything it claims to be. Easy to set-up, use and is reliable. I hooked it up to my home for a test-run the day after I received it. It started up instantly and powered the entire "critical function" sub-panel in my home (HVAC, water/well, freezers/refrigerators, water heater (gas), water softener, garage door, washer/dryer (gas), WIFI/network and critical lights/outlets). We built our home in 1998 (just prior to "Y2K", ha!) and included the sub-panel. I toyed with the ide...

So glad I bought this unit. Sence I bought it I’ve had to use it twice already

electric star is a bonus

replaced my old generator with Generac 6700, i wanted electric start with multi fuel, this fits my needs, very happy with purchase and has worked well.

Big Blue Back Up

It does the job, it runs everything in the house except the HVAC unit and is very quiet

after purchasing a different brand and having problems right out of the box with both products I bought this generac portable generator with a generic transfer switch and having it installed by a licensed electrician and approved by my local county all systems are go fortunately have not needed to use it this winter yet but I've had a generac in the past that served me very well
