Diagnostic systems are a big plus.

The automatic transfer switch is a must. This is my third home with a Generac unit. I was one of only four homeowners with a generator in a community of 700 homes. After a total power loss for 5 days in 2016, the lake community now has over 50 homes with standby power. The weekly test startup and light display gives me confidence that my unit will be ready to go when the next storm passes through our area.

No more aux AC outlets

I had a 22KW Generac previous to the one I now have which took four months to arrive. Since a model was not available to be seen I expected to get it with the same features. It is missing one I counted on which are aux AC outlets that were on a side panel. I bought a transient suppressor which I intended to plug in to said outlet. Nope!

Buyer Beware

We've had nothing but problems since Day 1 with this generator. Installed in September 2020, and 4 times after it did its weekly self-test, shut down. We haven't even had to use it yet due to a power outage, but I shudder to think what's going to happen during hurricane season.

pais for it self

i bought this generac 2 yrs ago/ we get alot of bad storms. during the laura hurricane the generac ran for 9 days straight without a problem. it ran on ngas. i have no ideal what it will cost but i dont care. i live in central louisiana. lowes set up a contractor. thank you lowes. great job.

All I can review is IT'S A BEAUTY! hooked up easily, programmed and registered easily. Now... let's just hope it kicks on when we need it!

Never an issue

I purchase this home standby generator after having several power outages that lasted days and losing a lot of meat from my deep freeze. I had this generator hooked up to my house, garage and pool. We've had this for 5 years now and never had a problem. I wouldn't be without one again.

generac is a great - lowes intall a nightmare

It has been over 3 months since I paid for my generator and the install still has not been completed. I love the product but I would think twice before letting lowes do the install. If you do, ask if the electrical contractor is Hill Electric. They are a nightmare to work with. Poor communication, long drawn out schedule and a lot of finger pointing to it being someone else's problem. Three months is way too long to get a generator installed. Still waiting on the final completion after THREE MON...
