The best thing since sliced bread!

I have had my standby generator for a little over one year. This past year has seen some very bad weather so the generator came in handy when I lost power 3 times. The unit started up quickly with no inconvenience. I would recommend a Generac generator to everyone.

Was not what I expected

The new generators are junk because they have too many sensors and computers in it where it won't start. My parents have the old Generac generator and they absolutely love it it's the new ones that are junk.

Should have tried a different brand

Purchashed in 2024, had a few outages through out the first year. At almost a year and 25 hours of run time, the engine begin to leak oil pretty good. Further inspection had 2 inches of oil in the air filter housings. Used the app to reach out for dealer, heard nothing back. Called dealer, they came out and did some testing, determined that engine was bad and needed replaced. Brand new, 25 hours and engine went bad. Dealer ordered new engine, took 2 weeks to arrive, and another week to install. ...

Works but has Several ERROR CODES

The generator works but I continuously get error messages. The installer has worked two separate times to troubleshoot these error codes and the source but has not received any support from Generac. Generac does not stand behind their product.

Have had this unit for about two years no problems

I got a lemon

This unit has not worked correctly since the initial start up. I am currently looking at a very expensive paperweight as the unit is inoperable at this time.

goes on automatically when the power goes off

We no longer have to worry about how long the power goes out which has been happening more often over the past 2 years with more trees falling on the power lines.

Many service and reliability issues with this unit for almost the full year I owned it

It has been working as planned for 2 years. We only had one issue with the transfer switch early on and the contractor fixed the issue the next day. We have had multiple power outages many lasting 4-6 hours. We are very pleased with our Generac. We are grateful we were able to afford it. Most of our neighbors cannot.
