How cheap GE quality has gotten

Works well , what is the second dishwasher I have purchased in the last few years first one intermittently stopped working so I bought this one which works well but the quality is extremely cheap looking plastics stainless steel is wobbly and very cheap. The display doesn't even have LEDs when you switch from one cycle to the next it uses these color buttons I don't even think it's LED very cheap. I guess we're seeing shrinkflation as it happens

Bad door latch, will break on first pull!

The first time I tried to open the door the tabs that hole the top portion of the door snapped. The latch is so strong I thought it was locked. As I opened it they popped. Bad design for sure. I used JB weld on the panel where the tabs where. It is very strong now, I'm sure this is a common problem with this. So did I learn anything from this? Never buy something expensive on line without seeing it!

Purchased One, Different One Delivered

Got the dishwasher but it was not the one we thought we bought. It matched the order number. However, the one we thought we bought had a 3rd upper shelf. The one that was delivered did not.

Didn't have on display at the store. It is the cheapest GE product we ever purchased!

Don’t trust the ratings Review them

Very cheaply made. Noisy, flimsy and bottom rack comes off easily. No way this had over 1000 4* reviews. Also, it says the original cost was over $600 but on sale for $399. No one would pay that much for a dishwasher like this one. Bad choice

WARNING DONT BUY!

Had this for 10 days now, this is the WORST dishwasher on the market. It's totally flimsy & cheap, door and racks/track wheels. And at 55db it's SO LOUD. We have an open floor plan and you cannot run this at night - Can't watch a movie in the family room & the hum it creates resonates upward into our bedroom so you can't sleep. Even WORSE is that Lowe's won't exchange it!! They say you have only 48 hours to return/exchange. That is NOT enough time whatever happened to customer satisfaction? I wo...

They don't make them like they used to

Have had this dishwasher for about 3 years now. Right after the warranty expired, I had to replace a wiring harness that was getting caught in the door. It ran for about 8 months before it started cutting off mid cycle. I have replaced the control panel, as well as thoroughly cleaned out the filters and the pressure switch. Cheaply made and bottom basket is veryyyy weak!!

I purchased this dishwasher because I live by myself and don’t need fancy. It washes great but the bottom rack is useless. Soooo flimsy!!! If you put your dishes in it it falls off the tracks and it’s a B&@c? to get back on without it falling off every time you roll it back in. GE should be ashamed to offer this product and Lowes should be ashamed for selling it. You can literally pick the entire dishwasher up with 1 hand.

Never again

Had issues for the 3 years i had it, but couldnt afford a new one. The door latch stopped working and I had to replace it. Due to design, the bottom edge of the door cut through the wires underneath. Had to reset the power on it in order to be able to use it because it froze. Replaced the control board to see if that was the issue, but it wasnt. Figured it was the main motherboard as that was the only thing left, but gave up putting more money into it. Never buying a GE dishwasher again.

Good Upgrade

Great: Decent entry-level dishwasher with a reasonable price and low water usage. Good: Gray tub color is nice and a major improvement in cleaning quality vs old dishwasher from 2005. Horrible all the way around from purchase

Went on May 15 to purchase the dishwasher. When it arrived it was severely damaged. The installer had already taken the old dishwasher out. It’s been almost a month and I still don’t have my dishwasher but I have already made payment on it. This is so unacceptable I will probably not do anymore purchasing of anything at Lowe’s. I am so upset. I still have a hole in my kitchen where the new one is to go
