Nice idea, but if you need to use a torque wrench, don't use this. It's meant to use with a drill bit, which is included. It is nice for something you can't get a wrench on; as long as you don't have to really torque on it to get it off, (not tall enough, etc.)

Bought (2) for gifts and the recipients loved them.

Great tool

Grabs all sizes well. Really gets a grip on those knarly stripped bolt heads. Saved me drilling out a bolt.

bolt needs to be perfect for this to work

Was taking removing the piston rod from a 4.7L Dodge engine when one 11 metric bolt became a little worn. I went and bought this gator grip thinking it might help to remove it, but it didn't work, it just made it perfectly round. It works if your bolt is in perfect conditions but not for the worn ones...

Disappointed

Had a stripped brass hex head plug. This could not grip it. May work for other applications but not for what I needed.

I was worried if it would work as discribed. but it was a needless worry, it worked better. Hope this review helps the next person.

Great buy

I purchased this for use on leveling kit for my rv. It makes it so much easier to stabilize and saves a ton of time. No more hand crank!

it did what I needed it for but doesn't seem string enough to handle very much. we'll see!

Good Grip

I'm an amateur when it comes to anything handy.... I needed an attachment for my power drill that would grip some flat head bolts. Gator Grip was perfect! This allowed me to easily assemble a yard cart that has been sitting in pieces for months!

The product performs very well and has many uses. I have used it in circumstances I did not intend but was very pleased.

Great tool to have

I used this to remove over a dozen plant hooks from the ceiling of my Florida room. This made quick easy work of the job.

Gator Grip Socket

Purchased this product to assist in removing a bolt that was stripped on my daughter's bike. Worked great, both in removal and putting it back on and tightening.

Didn't work

The title says it all - it didn't work - returning to Lowes tomorrow.

This socket failed to remove a frozen oil plug. After multiple tries, using only my hands and a 3/8" ratchet, the thing puked up one of the pins, a smaller rod, and a tiny spring. I was still stuck with the plug, only now it had been rounded off due the pins rolling around the edges, which means I have to grind it down even more to put edges on it and hope something else will work. Maybe this would be good for keeping in one's toolbox to use instead of carrying multiple sockets along (hence the ...

Waste of money

Had a stubborn bolt. First time I tried it the pins inside broke and jammed the whole thing up Cheap piece of junk but a good idea.

gater grip review

The Gater grip is a great tool, I have just bought this one to replace the one I had but can no longer find. I have used it for nuts and bolts that are stripped or the occasional rare sized bolts that I might not have the proper socket with me at the time.

A must have

I bought one of these many years ago when it first came out. It's one of the best things I have in my tool box. It has lasted and comes in handy for stripped or rusted out bolts.

JUNK!!!

The pins did not grip as hoped. Was a simple rusted bolt, exactly the type of thing it seemed to be designed for. Pins got jammed and I returned to the store within an hour. Too bad. Had high hopes
