What Customers Are Saying
The GAF Timberline HDZ Laminated Architectural Roof Shingles are generally well-received for their attractive appearance, easy installation, and durability. Many customers appreciate the shingles' ability to match existing roofs and provide a dimensional look. However, some users have reported issues with color matching, damaged or mismatched shingle bundles, and difficulty cutting the shingles, leading to waste during installation. While the majority of reviews are positive about the product's quality and performance, the company's customer service in handling any problems seems to be an area that could use improvement.

Great looking!
Would RecommendThe roof was replaced in March 2026 and we are still getting complements on how great it looks! The color goes with pretty much every color combination you might want on your house. The shingles are hefty and feel like they will last a long time. Very happy with this product.

New Edge Roofing did a great job and used GAF materials
Would RecommendMy new roof utilized GAF materials and the contractor New Edge Roofing/Baublitz Properties, LLC did a great job. Great communication, on time installation, easily finished in one day. After putting off a new roof for several years this contractor made it easy to get a new high-quality roof! 50 Year warranty from GAF!!

Bad quality shingles - stain very badly
Would Not RecommendOur roofer replaced our roof in 2016 with your Timberlane Slate colored shingles. Today, they look worse than the 30 year roof that was taken off in 2016. I would never recommend these shingles to anyone. I have a photo that I’ll post to social media warning against your product.

The overall roof might be great but
We replaced the roof in October 2025 and all was good until a big storm in July 2026 caused a leak in the roof in the same spot as was in the old roof. However they did come and fix it very quickly. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again I will have to wait on a true score on this review to see what happens in the future

Beautiful Roof
Would RecommendI replaced my roof a couple of months ago. I am very pleased with the increased curve appeal the roof has added to my home. The product is of high quality and it's satisfying to know that I have a good warranty, which is also transferrable to future owners. The color options were great. The PEWTER color that was recommended was the correct choice.

Would RecommendLB Roofing + Interiors did a wonderful job installing the roof. We love the color and texture of the shingles. I have already noticed a difference on how much more quiet the house is already. Thank you for having a wonderful product.

Great roof replacement
Would RecommendI had a new roof installed. Ty Cox and Edgar along with their crew did a Fantastic job. Taking care and protecting the surrounding gardens and trees. And policing the whole yard for debris and nails. They also replaced a piece of soffit siding that another roofer installed years ago incorrectly. I highly recommend Jayhawks Exteriors.

Excellent shingles
Would RecommendEasy to install and look great. I installed them myself on a shed. We just got over 1.5" of rain in a storm, shed was bone dry inside. Glad I went with these over standard 3-tab. The nailing strip is well defined and they were easy to cut with a hook blade.
