Decent Shingle - GAF's Customer Service is Poor
Would Not RecommendWe ordered 278 bundles of Timberline Hdz Charcoal shingles for a 2 house roofing project. The Lowe's pickup went well BUT we noticed that there was a Color Code mismatch on 1 of the 8 pallets of the shingles. On 7 of the pallets, the shingles had a Color Code of "SF180E" and a Month Code of "09" (09/21/24) but the other pallet contained 26 bundles with a Month Code of "01" (01/??/24") and "08" (08/10?/24). On each of the 7 pallet bundles with the "09" Month Code was a LARGE sticker with a war...

Manufacturer defect/ Release strips
Would RecommendManufacturing defects on 11 of the 12 bundles. The clear plastic release strips on the back of the shingles were not located correctly. The strips should have been Centered with the adhesive on the back of the shingles. Every pair of shingles were stuck back to back. The shingles had to be slowly and deliberately pulled apart or the top of the shingle would tear. This caused at least a 30% increase an installation time. I had no problems with the identical shingles I purchased last year.

DONT DO IT
Would Not Recommend2 years after a new roof... GAF denied my claim saying "Ray Charles" looked at the claim and couldn't find any cracking or defects. These cracks are everywhere on the shingles.
