Ratings & Reviews for Fiskars 1-lb Forged steel Hatchet with 12-in Composite Handle

Works well!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great hatchet! It works well. My favorite feature is the carrying handle as I can attach it to the wall or hold it easily. It could use more grip on the handle you hold while in use, but is fine as is.

Perfectly compact

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never knew I needed a hatchet until I had one in my hands. Sometimes and ask him be overkill. The smaller hatchet makes her a lot more feasibility and getting into tighter spaces. It’s not as heavy as an ax obviously which allows for greater swing and force. I also like that it comes with a guard for storage.

Perfect for my Backpack

Super sharp and chops great. I keep it in my riding backpack to clear fallen debris on trails and its perfect for that. The fact that is cuts so fast and efficiently helps save valuable energy needed for riding, definitely recommend to others.

Handy tool. Great for small branches.

Light, balanced, cuts well. Works great at cutting off weird edges on wood. Great tool to have nearby if cutting down trees or chopping firewood.

Nice hatchet for the price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with this hatchet. I got it for when I go camping to chop firewood and it works very well for this task. The blade is made of a high quality steel and holds an edge very well. The handle is made from a composite material and is just about indestructible. All in all, this is a great hatchet and meets my needs very well.

Nice product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great hatchet. Lightweight comfortable grip. Weight in the correct places. The head is nice and sharp and comes with a safety cover for storage. Definitely recommend. Will come in handy for chopping up yard debris.

Not Sharp as sold.

Hatchet is okay but you need to know that it is sold in an unsharpened condition. Buy it and you will need to sharpen it before using - disappointed.

Nice tool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this to try out as a replacement for a broken handle unit I had previously purchased through another vendor. He seems to be well made and pretty balanced for what it is. It is also pretty Sharp. Tried it on some small Limbs and works great. Overall satisfied with it and seems to be pretty sturdy.

Sturdy and durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the sturdiest hatchet I've ever held. The material is extremely high-quality. This may be the last one I ever buy as it seems like it will last forever. I also love the cover that comes with it to keep people safe from the blade when not in use.

Helpful hatchet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hatchet is a great addition to my camping gear. It worked well on our trip to help cut down wood pieces for the fire. It was sharp and easy to handle. I'm sure it'll get used a lot in the coming fall season.

Durable and Sharp

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great upgrade from my last hatchet. I put this through a rugged test chopping up hard wood stumps on my property. The fiberglass handle and design really helped with kickback from the chopping and it stayed sharp through all of the cutting. I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase a new hatchet.

Great Hatchet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The X7 Hatchet did a great job chopping the limbs off of the trees. Fiskars is great brand in my opinion. The X7 Hatchet did not let me down. Gotta love that is has a "full lifetime warranty". It says it's "virtually unbreakable". I think if I tried hard enough I could break, but with normal use it should stand up great. It also said it "chops up to 3x deeper". I don't know if that is true, because I don't know how deep it should chop. ...

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my old man he likes To chop a little wood like hickory to put in our smoker it’s Not too heavy like the bigger ones and chopped the wood pretty good it almost time to cut wood for winter this will be great to split smaller stuff

Lightweight but sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hatchet is great. It's just the right size for cutting smaller blocks of wood and even with the handle being plastic, it feels sturdy and strong in your hand. The shaft of the handle is a nice length to adjust grip based on your hand size or leverage needed. Both my wife and I have used this hatchet with ease. The protective cover over the blade locks in place is a plus.

Sharp and solid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent hatchet. Can not recommend this enough. It is a very heavy duty and solid hatchet. The Fiskars X7 Hatchet (14") will definitely last. I have used this for chopping wood in the fireplace and for the bar-b-que. I highly recommend this.
