Ratings & Reviews for Firman Electric Start 9400 Starting / 7500 Running Watt Gasoline, Liquid propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

Generator

Great product

Expensive, but available

The only problem I have with the product is that the price wasn't very competitive -but they had units available for pickup and I was in the middle (2 days) of a power outage. I got it home and had it running and powering our immediate needs in less than an hour. I was mainly wanting to power our freezer so we didn't lose any food. We also used it to power our Pellet Stove, our TV/entertainment center, and some lights. It worked as it should have. At 6 PM the next day, the power was restored. N...

Easy set up

Easy set up even for this 82 y.o. woman! Up and running within 10 minutes. Put on a cart so did not use wheel kit. Would recommend based on my experience.

Great service with Lowes

Should handle the next storm

The battery was a little low when we picked it up

Performs as advertised and the electric start is great

Repair issues

As with any mechanical device, the time will come when it needs repairs. Firman authorized service centers tend to be few & far between. I live in Clovis, CA and discovered that to get my Firman fixed I would either need to drive over 150 miles or pay a $150 dispatch fee. No one else in town would touch it because they can't get parts. So, unless you're mechanically inclined enough to troubleshoot your own breakdowns & then fight with Firman over parts, think long & hard before going with this b...

easy set up

Excellent generator and price.

Generator works great except the battery will not charge. Worked fine first couple of months.

Easy to start plenty of power easy to roll. Great

Absolute Waste of Money. Won’t Run

Had mine about a year and has less than 2hrs on it. Probably less than 1. Kept shutting off after about 5 mins. Then got to the point it was every 30 sec. Firman was easy to get ahold of and sent me a troubleshooting guide to determine the bad electronic part and get a new one on the way. By the time I got around to it, the generator wouldn’t start at all. The troubleshooting requires it to start. Probably just a bad coil but these issues are ridiculous on a new unit. You definitely cannot depen...

The first item delivered was incorrect

I am pleased with the product

Really nice, electric start is great

Lowes sold me generator w/o battery, not operable.

Generator was received incomplete. It does not have a battery! It will not work without a battery. I have called Firman customer support three times over three weeks and still do not have the parts I need to run the generator. Buyer beware! Lowe's sold this to me via online for pick-up at the Katy store. It was boxed and made to look as new. I paid over $800 for a generator in preparation for the hurricane season and almost a month has gone by and still I cannot operate my firman generator!!!

Great customer service

Product was defective and the return process was done with zero hassle. And they delivered the new one!!! Outstanding service!! That’s how you keep customers.
