Faulty equipment that nearly destroyed us

This generator shipped with a faulty starter motor and battery. No matter what we did, we could not get it to start. We followed the instructions, read the manual from cover to cover, even got my neighbor next door who is a mechanic to help us try to get it started. We had this generator delivered the day before q big snow storm, so we got increasingly desperate to figure out how to get it to work, but never were successful. Great product, employee help, not so much

The generator is great! Very well packaged, with very minimal assembly needed. Wheels and front bracket took a total of 15 minutes to install. Filled with oil (supplied) and gas. First pull started right up. The only reason this overall review wasn't 5 stars is because of staffing issues. Expensive, but available

The only problem I have with the product is that the price wasn't very competitive -but they had units available for pickup and I was in the middle (2 days) of a power outage. I got it home and had it running and powering our immediate needs in less than an hour. I was mainly wanting to power our freezer so we didn't lose any food. We also used it to power our Pellet Stove, our TV/entertainment center, and some lights. It worked as it should have. At 6 PM the next day, the power was restored. N...

Easy set up

Easy set up even for this 82 y.o. woman! Up and running within 10 minutes. Put on a cart so did not use wheel kit. Would recommend based on my experience.

Repair issues

As with any mechanical device, the time will come when it needs repairs. Firman authorized service centers tend to be few & far between. I live in Clovis, CA and discovered that to get my Firman fixed I would either need to drive over 150 miles or pay a $150 dispatch fee. No one else in town would touch it because they can't get parts. Absolute Waste of Money. Won’t Run

Had mine about a year and has less than 2hrs on it. Probably less than 1. Kept shutting off after about 5 mins. Then got to the point it was every 30 sec. Firman was easy to get ahold of and sent me a troubleshooting guide to determine the bad electronic part and get a new one on the way. Lowes sold me generator w/o battery, not operable.

Generator was received incomplete. It does not have a battery! It will not work without a battery. I have called Firman customer support three times over three weeks and still do not have the parts I need to run the generator. Buyer beware! Lowe's sold this to me via online for pick-up at the Katy store. It was boxed and made to look as new. I paid over $800 for a generator in preparation for the hurricane season and almost a month has gone by and still I cannot operate my firman generator!!!
