User friendly

Would Recommend

This generator exactly fit my needs. It's for back up if the power goes out at my home. It has the higher capacity needed to keep the grinder pump for my septic system operational, so that I can continue to use the plumbing at my house. It is extremely user friendly, even for newbies, if one takes the time to read the manual. As gasoline fumes are extremely toxic to me, I was delighted to find a generator this powerful that can operate in propane.

Right out of the box.

Would Recommend

It was too heavy to lift out of the trunk and carry it. so we used gravity and let it fall out. cut open the box, put the wheels & foot on and wheeled it to its location. put in oil, filled it with gas and I didn't shut it off for 4 days. Ran a 1 1/2 hour maintenance run on the first of the month, cranked right up and powered the house like normal. Sort of. Can't use the stove and water heater at the same time. But by using circuit breakers to turn things off and on, it will power everything but...

The propane regulator provided is too small

Would Not Recommend

Works great with gasoline, I bought it to run 50amp with my propane tanks, which are 40 and 60 pounds. The regulator is for a small barbecue sized tank not the sized tank needed to run the generator. The regulator that I have for my tanks were frosting up and I was told I would need at least a 100 pound tank to run the generator at its capacity. Disappointing. Ended up using gasoline which has limits for storage etc.

No power

Got it home. Put in oil and gas. Started right up. Plugged in, turned on some lights, a freezer and refrigerator and the generator breaker popped. Tried again and again and took it back to Lowes and they said I would have to take it to a repair center. I showed them their written return policy says I can return it. After some angry words they took it back.

A lemon?

I bought an H07552 three years ago, pretty much an H07553 today. I built a special enclosure for it outdoors, and tested it once, using the electric start switch. It worked fine. I didn't need to use it until summer 2024 during a storm and power outage. It would not start. The pull cord pulled all the way out and was useless. The electric start did not work. I took the pull cord assembly apart, rewound it, and that worked. I then purchased three different parts on advice from Firman tech suppor...

Hurricane Helene

Would Recommend

We purchased this after the hurricane and it worked perfectly. Not hard to set up and ran GREAT. I didn't use the propane option but instead ran off gas and only had to fuel it maybe once a day and that was just to keep the tank full. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing additional power sources.

Overall a Great Generator

Would Recommend

Overall Great Generator. Ran 41 hours between propone and fuel with no issue. Very easy to switch between fuels. Finger switch start quick and easy. My cons are minor. I wish it was a tad quieter. Note: You will have to pump the fuel out if the tank, there is not an excessible valve to drain it for storage. Simple cheap buy on ama**n. The wheels would be better as tube tires, but the tires are strurdy and roll well.

First try and it started right up…

+ Easy assembly + Easy to move around (super heavy unit) + Cranked up on the first try but we’ve only run it once ? Time will tell if this was worth the hefty price

The dual fuel (gas & propane) feature is wonderful. Output capacity could run the house — with hot water & AC requiring the purchase of a hefty adapter cable — which is more than I had been looking for, After Hurricane Milton hit Tampa, there was a run on all stores and all generator sizes. Lowe’s Zephyrhills store got pallets of these $999.99 generators in two days after the hurricane and people bought them, and often with two 5-gal gas cans like I did, simply due to Duke Energy’s restoration ...
