Not for GE! (No matter what the box says)

These filters were on sale and the box says it will fit GE so I got one. 30 minutes of trying to get it to fit and gave up, took it back to Lowes. Got an actual GE MWF filter and replaced the filter in 2 seconds. And now I see on someone else’s review a response saying - “EveryDrop® Water Filters are only certified for use in Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, JennAir and Amana Refrigerator systems”. So why does it say GE on the box?

Works wonders

We needed this to replace a older one in our fridge it works great and we are very happy to have gresh ice

Cheap

There was no seal on it and packaging was not tamper proof. Just a box with the filter in it. Then instructed to run several gallons through before using.

DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER

Do not buy this filter it will not fit. It claims to be a MWF filter but it will not fit in refrigerators that use MWF filters.

Good Water Filter

Purchased the end of July, water still tastes great !!!

Contaminate Removal

Doesn’t appear to be certified to remove all the contaminates that the GE filter does.

Difficult to Install

I have had the GE refrigerator for about 20 years and replaced the filter many times using both GE and off brand filters. I was concerned about the negative "didn't fit" reviews but bought it based on NSF rating and price. It took four tries before I was finally able to get the filter to seat and twist lock into place. I have never had any issues before this filter getting filters installed. Now it is installed it is doing its job. So if you want to try this filter don't give up, align care...

WASTE OF TIME!!! NOT COMPATIBLE!

After purchasing this for a GE MWF refridgerator. I wasted 1 hour in my home trying to figure out why no water was coming out. I took it directly back to my local store and explained how it did not work. I then purchased the ORIGINAL GE MWF filter and it worked right away!! THIS IS NOT FOR MWF AS IT SAYS ON THE FILTER ITSELF! Lowes was very helpful in the transaction of purchasing the Original with their price match garantee!! Thank you Lowes!

Just spend the extra $10 for the real thing

We bought this to save some money over the name-brand GE filter. It fit our fridge and worked fine... for about 2 months. Then the water started tasting funny, like it usually does when the filter needs replacing. These are supposed to last approx. 6 months. Save yourself the time and hassle of having to go back to the store and just order the real thing.

Does not fit GE fridge

Although the specs indicate that this fits a GE fridge - it does not. Ended up buying hdx part which fit perfect.

Generic item brand falls short

I really wanted this to work out for me, but it isn’t the same.
