I consider this a “soil amendment “. Rather than top soil. It is a composted wood product, so it has some small pieces of wood in it. And occasionally there are some larger pieces of wood. These don’t really bother me. This price is good, so I use this as my “go to” product for planting and even mulching at times. Good product! Please don’t change it!

Not "Quite" topsoil...
Would RecommendI bought this thinking it would be actual...soil. It isn't. It is finely graded mulch. I decided to give it a shot and use it to cover over grass seeds I've spread out over bare spots in the yard. Mostly to hide the seeds from birds, but also because the seeds I'm using don't seem to germinate unless they are covered. This stuff works! The grass came up no problem. And for less than $3 a bag, who can complain? You WILL still need to put straw down as a further protection from birds. Water it dow...

It has organic matter in it but it doesn’t feel like what I know to be top soil. It looks great in my flower bed. Hopefully the plants will do well there.
