Perfect natural mulch

We really like this mulch. It is shredded just right and the color is a pleasant brown. We cover our back and side yards to make a natural setting. It lasts a long time-usually a year or longer even on our slanted yard.

Best hardwood bark mulch we have found!

We are repeat customers and purchase the mulch for our 1-acre property. This year we purchased 16 pallets of hardwood bark mulch Lowe's delivered them to our home. It made the job much easier! It is best to purchase the bags that have not gotten wet because of the extra weight to move around!

Above Average Mulch

This is a finely-shredded brown mulch, rich, moist, with very few "chunks" of wood. Good price for the quality.

Best bagged mulch I've ever used

I usually use mulch from my local mulch yard, but have used bagged from time to time. This mulch is very nice. Ground better than the triple ground at the local yard, and nothing at all like any bagged mulch I've ever used before. Even finer than the top level Scotts produces. I'd think it was some kind of fluke if it were just a bag or two, but we put down 42 bags today and they were very consistent, clean and good smelll too. 7/8/2017 Amderson SC

More like sawdust than mulch

I have been using shredded hardwood mulch from another store for several years but they do not have it in stock right now so I went to Lowe's. The sample in their sample area is nothing like what was in the bags I bought; the sample was a shredded mulch. Mine has a little shredded stuff in it but the rest is about like sawdust or something from an anthill. I wanted what was in the sample bin. I will not buy any more of this. Great price; PUTRID smell!!!!!

Lowe's will continue to be my absolute favorite place to shop for lawn and garden materials. This just happens to be one time that the purchase was not good. The mulch covers more area than any other 2 cu bag of mulch I've ever purchased. The color is attractive once it is laid. BUT THE HORRIBLE SMELL is difficult to work with.

What Standard Is Used to Call It a 2 Cu Ft Bag ! ?

I recently bought 160 bags while on sale. The bag looks different but the Item # is same [97680]. After using the first 80, I stood back scratching my head ... 80 2-cu ft bags should be 160 cu ft which should be nearly 6 yds of mulch. Now I've been spreading 6-yd loads of mulch year-after-year for 25 years and what I had just spread couldn't have been more than 3.5 yds. So, I was "scientific" with the next 80 bags. Mulch

Not what I expected, but its mulch as long as it does it job. I like the color the mulch deep brown and it looks good. The price was excellent.

Trashy

I used this mulch last year and was quite pleased with it. It was finely shredded and had a dark consistent color. This year it was full of trash, big chucks of wood and large sections of limbs. The color was inconsistent...from very a light blonde color to a light reddish brown. I put down 125 bags and my beds resembled a calico cat.

what can i say? it's mulch. pretty darn clean-only a few bits of colored paper/plastic in the 200 bags I used. tip of the day: wait until that weekend in April when this is on sale, then buy more than you think you need on the internet for pickup at the store (this year I missed the $1.49 sale [half price ish] but caught the $2 sale [for 2 cu. ft.]). Then, show up at customer service and tell them how much you're picking up on that trip, they'll print a receipt and you give it to the guys outdo...

Overall, not bad... but not great.

Went through 26 bags this weekend so I've got a bit of experience with the product. It does have a nice rich color and smells clean - not rotting. On the downside, probably 6 of the bags had iffy quality control. Got a crushed up aluminum can in one, plastic shards in a few others, and some that were predominantly branchy. All in all, not a real problem but just means you have to do some cleanup as you spread it.

I used this mulch to cover up garden beds so my dog would stop dragging mud into the house. It did the job...no more muddy paw prints. The mulch still has a nice rich color, probably won't need to re-mulch this season.

Low quality, rocks and clay w/ mixed plant debris

Hapi-Gro hardwood mulch contains mixed plant debris with large chunks of clay, rocks, and trash. Would not purchase again.

not much to say: it's mulch

truthfully, i'm not adept enough to know the difference between one brand and another. it's a nice dark brown, giving it a nice earthy color as you spread it at base of bushes, etc.

What to put on steep slopes

We have a couple of very, very steep slopes and had a terrible problem keeping the plants watered that we put there to hold the soil. Not only does this mulch do that but it also looks good. We've probably bought over 60 bags so far and will be ordering two to three times that to finish them both before winter. This mulch is more expensive than most but it is well worth the money.

great munch

This is the best mulch I have ever used.I ordered 30 bags. i have 4 more to finish spreading ,I am going to order at least 50 more.It held up well over our rain stormes in the last few days . it did not wash out. It is very easy to spred and looks great.The price is good,

Bag of Shredded wood

My mulch bags are full of what looks like shredded wood. Like someone took a big piece of wood and cut it into little pieces. Some of the pieces were bigger than others and almost all were a shade of brown. It had kind of an earthy smell too. My bags were wet and heavy. Probably because of the rain. Spreading the mulch made my fingernails dirty, seemed to attract a few insects, and produced a stinky cloud.

Process was pretty easy

Ordered it, picked it up, put it on the ground. Would have been nice if the price included someone else doing the work, but other than that, very satisfied!

Should not have been sold. Had to bang bags on cement to loosen. Crumbly and dry.
