Bought four sensors a year ago three batteries dead within 2 months tried every where to buy batteries all dead within two days total waste of money

I bought the earlier version when I bought the thermostat. It lasted less than five months. Since I only need one and you have to buy 2 I’m reluctant to spend more money on the sensors. Any thoughts?

Best Smart Thermostat

I've been using my Ecobee for about 3 years. I first had the Nest which works fine but like most thermostats, it reads temperature usually in a hallway which isn't representative of the rest of the house, though I do like the routine learning functionality of the Nest. The Ecobee does all the regular stuff like know when your not home to use the a/c less, and know when your on your way home to get to your desired temp, etc... Save your Money

I’ve have this system for 5 years now. The thermostat works as intended but the sensors are a waste of money. When my kids are sleeping the sensors don't pick the room up as occupied. Thus only averaging the temp of the main thermostat with the 3 sensors. Problem is that the temp downstairs is far lower and doesn’t hit the average threshold to signal the AC to kick on. Seriously don't waste your money.

More averaged temp in my home

Had for under 1 month but works great. If you have a newborn at home the aux sensors are a must have to keep babys room at the right temp during our long drawn out winters

Great little habits that actually work

My system has been up and running through the Arizonias temps of 115* and winters temps primetime 36* but recover helps keep my bill down to a much more reasonable bill than my old thermostat! Thanks ecobee

They work... sort of

I have five of these in my home. They are properly installed at a proper height, and have plenty of “view” to detect occupants. Unless you move quite a bit, a room will come across as “unoccupied”. My master bedroom was “unoccupied” when I got out of bed this morning. Clear view from the sensor to the bed. Now, it shows as occupied when I haven’t bee in the room for quite a while. Love the remote sensors!

This extra sensor pack comes with 2 sensors - they are terrific for helping the ecobee blend into the background and make you more comfortable. I love their integration with homekit - they can give motion status as well as temperature though it would be nice if the motion updated a little bit more frequently. The batteries last for about a year and can be changed pretty easily

Does its job and great battery life

I've had the sensors for 3 years now and I think I've only changed the battery once. That being said, I wish the sensors would be more quick to detect that the room is unoccupied and switch the thermostat to away. Right now, the time it takes to update takes a bit of time

With the additional sensors, I now have insight into my whole home - very useful!

A life saver!

We could not comfortably control the bedrooms at night with our nest thermostat. I switched to the ecobee brand and installed remote sensors in the bedrooms. Maintaining temp upstairs instead of the dining room where our stay is has made nights sleeping so much more enjoyable thanks to the remote sensors. Highly recommend!

Great feature to add

I have about 6 sensors at home and it really helps when getting an average temperature for your home or when you are trying to figure out which room is hotter or colder

The room sensors are what really make the Ecobee great. They help balance the home temperature and allow the system to accurately know when you are home and if certain rooms are off balance. For example, we can use these to get the system to keep the bedroom a bit cooler at night. You can tell the system to ignore certain sensors for part of the day during one of your profiles. Like if one room is in direct sunlight during the day and you don't want to cool the whole house more just to keep that...

Makes my house more comfortable

I have several Ecobee Room sensors throughout my house and they really made a difference in averaging the temperature... especially in the winter. I would recommend getting as many sensors as you can afford!

Great addition

These are a complete neccessity for my installation and worked exactly as I needed them to. The battery has lasted years and the units are small enough that they can be hidden quite easily, or moved if adjustment is needed.

A must have

These really helped to balance the temperature at night in a 2 story home where the Ecobee thermostat is located downstairs. Remove thermostat sensor from sleep setting and use just these sensors for night time comfort.
