The Earthquake walk behind string mower is a quick to start, well made and effective trimmer. I bought it to clear a septic field left overgrown by the previous owners. It will mow through all grass and weeds like nothing. You do need to avoid small trees as it is not made for that and will catch the string and force you to have to quickly replace. I would clear all saplings with pruners or a saw THEN destroy the pesky brush.

hard to start after using it

I read all of the raving reviews but I have a different experience. It starts fine when cold but after refueling- its very difficut to restart- I followed the directions and it takes over 25 mins to get it restarted. Maybe I got a lemon?

Strong engine, runs well

Starts easy. I had a Husqvarna string mower for 10 years before it died and I wanted something with similar features and I've been pleased so far. It uses smaller diameter string than my other one, so I go through more string changes so I'm adjusting to the new tempo. The engine seems very strong

Perfect for my big job!

I bought this to clear out an acre pond shoreline. It was overgrown with thick weeds and brush. I was concerned in the beginning that the line would constantly break. As long as you don’t try to take down small trees, the line did a great job of holding up. Whenever it came time to change the line it was very easy to do and took about two minutes. it ate right through the brush. It was actually fun to use! It was easy to pull start too. I highly recommend this!

Works well

Works for what I need it for. Reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that longer/taller grass and weeds really burn thru the string quickly.

chore machine!

Powerful string trimmer, haven't found the limit yet. But easy enough for my 12 year old to start and use in tall grass, especially after he argues with his brother! bahaha. Make sure you follow the directions for installing new strings. If you do it right, they last a long time, if you don't they fly out.
