The log splitter works great Just needs longer legs on it.

Love to split wood!

The log splitter is outstanding! Works well for both pine and oak rounds. I love it and my wife is grateful I no longer will be using an axe.

Disappointed

I'm a little disappointed with this product. It's really slow and doesn't seem to have the power to go through Hardwood like Oak and that's what I needed it for. It does okay with cedar but I can split that by hand. The wood pops off kind of hard and you have to be careful to not get hit by it plus it leaves red paint all over your wood not aesthetically pleasing.

Terrible in cold weather

This product does not work well in the cold… you know, the thing you need firewood for! The manual says it isn’t meant to operate under 40 degrees (which is bogus for a firewood splitter). But my first time using it was a warm Alaskan fall day and it quit working after an hour! We hadn’t even had first snow yet. This product should not be sold in alaska if it freezes up so easily. But unfortunately since it’s no longer new in the box the website makes it sound like it can’t be returned. 0/10 sta...

Clunky junk

Not good for hardwoods like oak, but ok with ash. Hydraulic system prone to leaking. Once seal blew, unable to be repaired. Worked ok for first year, but lasted only 2.5 years.

Impressed!

Did very well with the dying and dead Ash trees I've been taking down. Did have to have it on a level surface (Reasonable Level) so the pump would not run dry. I did have one time it "Locked up" and wouldn't run...let it sit for a half hour and it took off again (think it was getting warm from 3 hours of use straight without much of a break). Over all durability... No question!

Earthquake 5 ton splitter. Good buy.

Works as advertised. Quick and convenient for light duty work around the house. Make sure you’re on a level surface though, evidently it has a tilt kill switch.

Works ok, but a little disappointed in the power. Could use a built in stop mechanism for shorter pieces.

This product does exactly as advertised. It works with ease on smaller logs but I have done pretty good size ones without any drag on the splitter. Would recommend this item.
