Real workhorse

Bought this to remodel my basement. Solid build and very accurate. DEWALT is my go to for all power tools.

Great quality saw. Just short a few features you would have to spend more for. -No Laser or shadow cut line. -Can only cut through 10” board on one pass. No built in tape measure. But very powerful with a great quality feel and very solid, accurate positive stops

Terrible saw and service from Dewalt

The saw motor started sparking and smoking after having it for a bit over a year. Sent it back to Dewalt for services, and they voided my warranty, stating the area of the motor was opened. I told them I thought that area was where the motor brushes were located and mistakenly opened it, but they still voided my warranty. They asked $200 to service it, which is absurd. Never buy from Dewalt again!

Terrible saw and service from Dewalt

The saw broke within a year. The motor has a burning smell and starts to smoke every time it turns on, so I contacted Dewalt for repair. They said my warranty is void because I opened the saw. I opened the saw to assess the brushes as instructed in the manual. They also asking for almost $400 to repair the saw.

Only lasted 6 Months

Saw is throwing sparks already after only 6 months of use. This is my 5th saw and this one looks like it's gonna catch fire. Bad brushes/commutator, who knows! I cut a lot of wood as I use this for my business but this saw has declined in quality. It's probably okay for the occasional user but definitely not made for a professional that needs to cut hundreds of wood slices a week. The two saws before this one have an issue with the trigger mechanism going bad so the blade just keeps spinning on...

Defective and DeWalt Won't Help

Defective. The guard bracket screw will not come out to change the blade. It has blue stuff on it that looks like Loctite and the wrench that came with the saw is starting to strip it. I googled this issue and found lots of people on message boards that had the same problem with this saw right out of the box. Yet, DeWalt keeps selling saws with this defect. DeWalt Support suggested I send it to a mail-in program that doesn't take miter saws. The only other suggestion is a repair shop that's an ...

Incorrect Specifications Listed

I bought this miter saw because I needed a bigger saw that would cut 5.25" baseboard I was going to install. The specifications listed on the Lowes website state this saw will cut a depth of 6 inches at 45 degrees. I bought the saw, set it up, and on my first miter cut, it wouldn't cut through the full baseboard, leaving over an inch of baseboard not cut. What?! Ridiculous! Had to return the saw.

Seem rickety and cheap

I had another saw the same size, another brand. It was put out of commission by a tree. This one is much less sturdy. Starts up slow and shakes. Cuts ok. But it’s just not very smooth. It’s probably going back.

A few changes were made

Had to buy a new saw because they discontinued the guard parts for my old dewalt saw. The new saw is made a little different, my old saw had a couple of extras , crown moulding stops, material supports on each side that were made for the saw, they no longer fit the new saw, I’m sure by no accident and they shortened the cord ,other than that it cuts ok, no different than the old.

Fense is not parallel and not square.

I just saw a video about machining to 0.005 mm accuracy. This saw is way off from that. If the fence is off square and the two sides of the fence are not parallel when it comes from the factory, what are the hidden faults? There is also a slight movement of the motor and blade left to right, I make a lot of mitered cuts, and a little movement becomes very obvious in the final result.
