Brad Point Drill Bit Set

I am Surprised you don't call them what they are! I have used just one of them and am satisfied with its peformance.

Soft metal

Bought these for drilling clean holes through oak. Used the 1/4" bit for four holes and the 1/8" for about 10. My drill fell over with the 1/8" bit chucked up and the bit bent almost 45 degrees. I've broken many bits in my days, but I've never bent one. These bits were not properly hardened and are going back to Lowe's.

Didn't last too long, & no Allen wrench??

I used my to countersink some holes for a Tiger Wood deck, the Size#8 seemed to have a had time penetrating the wood & eventually snapped, & what, couldn't Dewalt include an Allen wrench? maybe it would work better for a softer wood..

More clean and durable than other types

I have used these for two days now installing cabinets. A coworker had the cobalt brand of the same style, and his physically separated and is no longer usable. I also have the larger set of Kobalt countersink accessories in a case, these new ones make cleaner, easier, more acurate holes and don’t break as easily. My only wish is that they came in a small zipper pouch with sleeves to hold them separated whike stored.

Best drill bits out there

These drill bits came ready to use out of the package! Normally when I buy those cheaper drill bits that I need for a job with which I’m going to end up breaking anyways, they don’t come with a decent tip that helps to guide and keep that but right where you need it. Can’t say that with these DEWALT drill bits.

Bent

All 3 bits in this set are bent. Which of course makes this tool 100% unusable. Just about all of my power tools are DeWALT, which is many, and I'm very satisfied with each and every one of them. With such high quality tools that I own, being disappointed in a product from DeWALT would be an understatement. It's still hard to believe that a defective tool came from DeWALT. Now the hard part is trying to find my receipt so I can return it to Lowes.

what can you say they are just good wood drill bits. Just don't hit a nail/screw or you'll have to sharpen the bit (or replace it).

Broke first time.

I bought these bits to complete a project. I drilled several holes the first night with the small bit and was relatively pleased. As I used it again the following evening, the drill bit snapped off at the base. Needless to say I was very frustrated. Although I was able to complete my project using another of my drill bits - using the counter sunk portion of the broken bit as a lone tool. That worked out okay, but not as convenient as having the tool that I paid for. I probably won't buy a replac...

Can't Need to buy an Entire $30 set For a $2 Drill

The DeWalt Rapid Change apparatus is great but it's frustrating not to be able to buy a replacementl bit with the flat spot on the shank that accommodates the set screw after spending so much on the tool in the first place!

counter sink bit set

The drill bits are pretty good. I use the middle one all of the time. I have used the large a few times and broke the drill bit center, they are held in with a set screw. I would love to just buy another bit to replace but they are not available
