Incorrect shank size
Would Not RecommendWebsite says 11/32" shank to fit a 3/8" drill. The actual shank size is for a 1/2" drill. Wasted trip to the store due to bad information. Home Depot and Menard's are both just a few more minutes away. Guess I'll go there.
Keep Your Drill Bits Cool.
Would RecommendI have learned to always use some kind of coolant to keep my drill bits cool when drilling large holes. They will stay sharp so much longer and give me lots of use. This 5/8 bit is nice and has a reduced shank size so it will fit in a smaller size drill's chuck.

Would RecommendI Was able to drill a few 5/8" holes in a tractor ROPS bar without any issue. I gave it 4 stars because the shank was not reduced enough to fit in a 3/8" drill. You will need a drill that will accept a 1/2" shank.

Would Not RecommendDrilled one hole in 1/4" steel plate with oil for lubrication for a project on my truck and before I completed the hole the bit was dull had to go borrow a bit of same size to complete . I guess it was dull to begin with.

Begrudgingly did the job
Would RecommendWas using to install an eye piece in a metal door. Started with a pilot hole...but it took a lot of force for me get the drill through the metal clad door. I would recommend for drilling into metal. It worked great on the pvc and plastic pots I was drilling drain holes into.
