Versatile

I didn’t realize this unit had a non impact mode, which basically allows this to replace my old non-impact driver, although it lacks a torque limiting clutch. Primarily chose this model as I have other 20v max tools. The bundle was only $10 more than the tool alone, and now I have two more batteries and an extra charger.

Good Value

TWO batteries, tool and charger. Cant beat the price! The new approach is selling the tool WITH OUT the battery and charger. For this reason I would NOT buy the tool! Its like buying a sweeper with out the cord! With that said I like the tool and package deal. Ordered on line and received product within 2 days.

This is the second of this same unit I have purchased. It is an excellent value, Powerful in all three speeds and battery life is food enough that all day use seldom uses more than the life of 1.5 fully charged batteries.

Absolutely love it

Has more power than other manufacturers definitely worth the investment. It will remove lug nuts at 100ftlbs and drive 4 lag screws with ease.

Diasappointing

Have owned a number of Dewalt tools over the years and have been generally satisfied. Never had an impact driver but needed one for a current project. Read numerous reviews and this one, the DCF887D2, seemed to meet my needs so purchased it a couple of weeks ago. Tried driving a 1/2" x 2 1/2" lag screw and it would only drive the screw in half way before it would cut out. I had pre-drilled the hole to the appropriate size and thoroughly waxed the threads up to the head of the screw and it still ...

Good, not great

After two years the bits sometimes get a little stuck. WD 40 helps for a while.

Cant Go Wrong

tried a friends around 2 years ago and its been dewalt ever since. the 3 speed impact is super fast at driving screws all day, and lite enough to do it all day. own 5 of them now.

Excellent tool

As usual Dewalt exceeded my expectations with this new 3 speed impact driver. I own a 1/4" impact driver in 18volts. It is pretty worn out since I have used it almost daily for the past 10 years so I decided to upgrade to the DCF887 and WOW! I love the 3 speeds, much easier to remove screws, etc without damaging the heads and the LED lights are marvelous for someone who wears glasses!

Must have for an average DIYer!

I've been slowly buying Dewalt 20v tools since we moved into our house a year ago. I had a drill but never an impact driver. I was tired of changing between drill bit and screw driver bit, and also wanted this for work on a new privacy fence and shelves for my garage. Wish I would have bought this earlier. I Love it!
