New 2023 Dewalt 20v 1/2" Driver/hammer drill

Purchased to replace old Dewalt drill that has just disappeared (misplaced and have found yet or it was stollen, pending further investigation.). This is the newest addition with added options. Making projects around the house easier. Current project is to steel brush the crossbars on wood fence 2X4's removing old chipping paint.

Amateures: Don't drill concrete with normal drill, even if YouTube says you can cause you might break your drills chuck. gave me an excuse to buy this and I'm very satisfied. Cutting corners and making due when broke or inexperienced is understandable, a B&D drill and hammer held my shack upright for years, but fixing and building things right with the right tools is worth the money If you have it and loss of hearing. EYE PROTECTION IS A MUST!

Smaller than the XR, Mighty in its ability.

When this new DCD798 Driver came out I decided to give it a go exclusively for a whole month on all my jobsites. The new DCD798 is about an inch shorter than the XR and roughly 3.5 oz lighter. Nice compact hammer drill DCD798

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the compact size of this drill/driver. I used it to get into tight spots i couldnt get with my full size drill. Power was adequate for all drilling/driving jobs. Ive only had it a few weeks so cant say really how it will hold up,but its a Dewalt so i dont question its reliability. It's alot lighter than my dcd995 which is still running strong. Its nice to have both on hand when the need arises. Keep up the great products!

Lightweight but STRONG.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hammer drill is an ideal tool for the purpose. It’s lightweight, but packs a serious punch. It’s punched through concrete and asphalt with bits from 1/8”-7/16 in diameter with a clean hole and not much wobble at all.
