Could Be Better

Big Dewalt fan and like most reviewers I needed a lighter weight drill for quick jobs that didn't require my 20volt after several months occasional use I would not recommend this drill something about the chuck does not hold drill bits or screw driver accessories in place and they often fall out based on this fact I would not recommend this drill, it gets annoying

Perfect for Home Repairs

I had to repair a wood fence and secure a mailbox after moving to my new home. The 12v DeWalt Cordless Drill handled the jobs with ease. The wood screws sank right into the two inches of old wood without a problem. It's the perfect size for me and being light weight still gets the job done.

hard to get drill bits in tight

I like the weight and ease of use but the drill bits kept slipping out when I would reverse the drill

waste of money

I purchased this drill 3 half months ago only used it 3 times , the drill has hardly no power when drilling into hard wood like oak tried to return it at Lowes there customer service is a joke. This drill would be great if you are drilling into WAX but other then that don't waste your time or money. I work with drills all my adult life an thought I was buying a name brand from a reputable company but I found out wrong on both accounts.

I love this!

The drill has more power than the previous two battery powered drills I owned. It comes with two batteries (that charge quickly!) so when one runs out, I just push in the new one and recharge the first one. It also holds a charge longer than my previous drills. I LOVE THIS!

A great little drill

I am a woman who loves to do little projects around the house and this drill is just a wonderful tool to do such a job. I am working on a chicken coop out back and this drill has been my friend all the way!!!

Great addition to my toolbox

I have used the 18v for years but wanted a lighter drill for those not so tough jobs. This little drill is just the ticket for working with doors and cabinets or any small job particularly in tight spaces. This one has the power needed for most tasks and is the one I reach for more often than I thought I would. LOVE IT.

I love Dewalt tools. All of my tools that I use are Dewalt. They are very reliable and tough enough to handle any job.

Easy to use and practical!

Being a woman I needed a drill for uses around the house. This drill is excellent, lightweight and has two batteries for use. I used it the first day I bought it and have used it several times since. It had a very nice carrying case with it and made it a safe place for me to store it when not in use. I enjoy the quality and versatility of this drill for my household.

Nephew recommended...

My talented, skilled and brilliant 16 year old nephew insisted we purchase this drill and screw driver. I hesitated because it is a contractor's grade tool, however with it my nephew put up our fire alarms, security lights, porch & kitchen lights and did a lot more chores! The tool is the best and so is my nephew!!!

Awesome Drill

I am a 62 year old female DIY, and this is an awesome drill. Light weight and perfect. The instructions advise you not to drill at high speed, but to drill with short spurts of high speed... this works great and your accuracy is right on. I have a 20v and it is just way to awkward to handle, I should have bought this long time ago. LOVE IT!!!

great little cordless drill.

it's lightweight, well balanced and has plenty of torque. I've owned the larger 18 Volt Dewalt for about 8 years but I wanted something a little easier to handle for the detail jobs like cabinet hinges. this 3/8 cordless drill fit the bill perfectly.

Good Drill For Lighter Jobs

Will it drill holes with a 3/8" auger bit or a 3/4" spade bit? Yes, but not for long on a single battery. It was not designed for that type load. For the more demanding drilling you need an appropriately sized drill. This drill works well for drilling smaller holes and driving screws while being quite light and handy. Although lighter than the Dewalt 20V XR compact drill/driver it is longer so it won't go in tighter spots. It does feel good in hand. I would call it a quality tool for it's intend...

easy to handle and powerful...

easy to handle all day and not to heavy. doesn't have an extra bit holder built in which is unfortunate...battery charges very quickly and seems to last beyond expectations....
