Would RecommendFinding this set was a huge relief! With the re-design of the Lithium-Ion batteries, I was concerned that I would be forced to buy all new cordless tools.

Great batteries
Would RecommendThey work perfectly with 18v tools, cheaper, smaller, lighter, and last much longer than 18v batteries. Saved my 18v tools, very satisfied with results.

Overheats and stops working or charging
Would Not RecommendI got these to use with my older 18v tools. I liked the form-factor of thes as they are slimmer than the older 18v batteries and they charge faster. BUT here is my problem with them. When I was using them last weekend for an outside project during a hot and sunny north Texas day, they kept overheating when using the sawzall/reciprocating saw or the drill. When they overheat they simply stop working. And when you place on the charger it doesn't charge saying it's waiting... I got around this a fe...
What happened?
Would Not RecommendThese are not good. Much lighter than the old 18 volt, but I spend a lot of time going back to the charger for a fresh battery. They seem to charge fast but lack power. One battery MIGHT drive 20- 3” screws into #2 pine.
the good times
Would Not RecommendSave your money. Hopefully the will bring back the Lithium batteries back. The adapter and battery pack should be an embarrassment coming from Dewalt.

nice batteries, difficult adapter
Would Not RecommendI purchased this adapter and battery kit in an attempt to continue using my older DeWalt tools, which work perfectly. The batteries lose charge quickly so I've learned to remove them from the adapter when not in use. The adapter itself, however, is nearly impossible to remove from the tool without the use of gorilla strength. Holding the tool between my knees and using both hands to remove the adapter is simply not suitable, especially if you're on a ladder, scaffold or some other elevated platfo...

Update older system
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this kit to update my older 18v tools. Pros: faster charging, longer lasting batteries. Tools are much lighter. Cons: battery drains quickly (after several hours) when left in tool. Causes a noticeable pulse in my DeWalt fluorescent worklight. Long and short of it, it's a viable option to keep using your old tools, but there are annoying flaws that will likely be solved by updating to tools that were designed for the newer...

Does the job.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product allows me to use my old 18v tools with the 20v batteries. My only complaint is that the low amp hour of the batteries makes them not last very long. Higher amp hour batteries would be much more useful with this product.

Good option to extend life of older tools
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have several 18 volt tools that although are not the latest technology, they are adequate for a DIYer like myself. This is a good way to extend their life and serve as a bridge to the newer line of tools. I don’t leave batteries attached to the adapter based on comments in previous reviews. The adapter is sometimes difficult to remove from the tool due to the strong latching mechanism.

Poor product
Would Not Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to extend the life of my 18v tools. But these batteries do not hold a charge. And the adapter is a struggle to engage and disengage with both 18v tools and the 20v batteries is impossible.

Batteries and Chargers
Would Not RecommendThe tools aren't bad but the chargers and batteries do not work consistantly. I have 2 sets of Batteries and chargers. Sometimes the batteries charge sometimes they don't. Sometimes the chargers work and other times the chargers show they are already charged. Sometimes it charges uickly otherwise it takes hours. There is no pattern of when these things happen.
Not at all impressed!
Would Not RecommendI am not sure if my batteries are defective or if the 2.0 amp rating is just that poor compared to my 5 year old 18 volt XRP “big“ batteries? I only bought these two 2.0 amp batteries December 2019 And I will admit, I didn’t even consider the huge difference going from a 2 amp from a 5 amp, so that’s my bad there. First, the light will only ever light up two bars, even though the charger states they are completed charging. Then after only using for half an hour the meter will only light one lig...
Great option for 18v but how about 14v hand drill?
Would RecommendI have 2 set of hand drills, one is 18v and the other is 14v. The 14v is hard to find the battery for it now, it's become useless with no battery. however I like the 14v more than the 18v. I wonder why Dewalt don't make this adapter for the 14v hand drill?

Poor Performance!
Would Not RecommendI have had these for just over six months. They are a failure, compared to the 18V system. They won't charge up, and the tools run out of power very quickly. I'm going back to the 18V batteries until I can afford a different setup with better reputation. Very disappointed, DO NOT BUY!

lasted less then 2 years on home use only
Would Not RecommendThe old 18volt battery lasted much longer. Paid high price for two 20 volt batteries that last less then two years.

Excellent nicad replacement system
Would RecommendI use these for projects and jobs around my home, they work perfectly. I don’t know what the fuss is about the adapter being hard to install and remove, I’m disabled with limited use of my left arm/hand and it is not difficult with any of my tools. The batteries charge quickly and last a sufficient amount of time for the size and capacity they have. Also people should realize that the batteries should be removed when your no longer using the tool, it’s common practice and safer so accidents occu...
