Would return if the boards weren't fastened down

The manufacturer had placed a label on the deck surface. We cannot get the adhesive off without concern about damaging the surface. The labels were on for about a week after delivery. I assumed that we could get them clean after installation but should have tried before installation and returned them when I realized that they wouldn't easily come clean. Tropics had the color and value I was looking for. Only draw back is composite deck boards get hotter than treated pine.

no bare feet

very hot in sun, must have something on feet. also when screws go in the finish comes up, sanding them off ruines the finish. I would not use again

Beautiful...stickers are a pain though!

Love everything about these...except the stickers don’t come off easily so it took a little extra time and scrubbing to get the stickers and glue off. Otherwise, they are great. We bought a whole case of the boards and they were all in great shape.

Tears too easy

This is terrible composit. The surface tears way too easy. We just finished an install. Sliding a light deck chair dug the surface in 3 places before we even noticed. We don’t even have the rails up. Very expensive for poor quality material. Our deck is 16’ x 14’. It is intended to be used, if slidunding a chair does this, can’t waitbto see what the table will do. We ordered the boards for delivery. Three of them had slice marks across them, it was almost complete before we saw them. I...

Buyer Beware

Purchased these composite decking boards to replace my old deck boards and upgrade our decking area. Installing the boards was fairly easy until I noticed that every board was improperly cut at both ends. I contacted ufpi to only be told that this error was within their quality specs. I had to remove all the boards and re cut them and then cut both ends before installing the rest. So the amount of time, labor and cost I would’ve been better off buying trex.

Tropics 16 foot composite deck board

boards are very nice, but we ordered 43 and found 9 that were damaged. For the price they should be protected better in transit.
