Almost Always Strips

The color matches the decking (Trex Foggy Wharf) sufficiently. They appear to be well coated. Don't try to drive these without pre drilling. The WILL strip out. A total waste of time. I have never had deck screws that were allegedly designed for composite lumber strip out. The description says that you don't have to pre drill; good luck. I've never used a torx drive screw that was so easy to see strip the head out, even with the brand new bit provided in the box. I was only able to use 50% of the box.

Wrong bit size,

This review has nothing Lowe’s could help. The bit that came with it was to big. Had to go back and get the right size. 45 minutes drive. Didn’t think to bring the issue up with CS. The screw are excellent for a lot various projects.

Predrill for ease of use

I predrilled, it is not easy to use without a pilot hole. Also that reverse screw likes to fill with plastic gunk and not sink flush without the pilot

Minor design flaw?

Its a screw but when using them I felt that it created too much vinyl garbage at the top of the screw which frequently prevented it from seating properly. This is generated by the reverse threads intended to prevent mushrooming. Perhaps the pitch on that portion of the screw could be improved. heads strip before even half way in

Do not buy these if you don't want to spend hours fighting them. I tried multiple bits and drill/drivers and even pre-dilling but no luck. about 1 in 3 would strip out. Finally gave up and bought different screws which went in without issues.

Best composite decking screws!

While installing my composite deck, I had used the TimberTech Top-Loc fasteners which frequently did not countersink in the decking or the screw heads would snap off very easily. When I ran out, I attempted to order more, but they were out of stock. So I tried the deck plus screws from Lowe’s. I wish I would’ve found these and use these in the first place. Quality item, no problems whatsoever with these and significantly less expensive!!! Highly recommended!

Terrible product. Head strips very easily!

The metal these screws are made of is inferior. The head stripped out on almost every single screw, no matter how gentle we tried to be when putting them in. Even trying by hand did not help. The only thing that did make a difference was pre-drilling every single one. if you have time for that, the screws are for you! Otherwise, don’t waste your money.
