Better than most others...Don't over torque

This brand (Hillman) is better than most others. Minimal mushrooming in composite. This is my go-to brand for composites.

Perfect screw for deck building projects. Easy to use. Comes with a star bit for installation.

Great match to composite decking

I was wandering around Lowe's trying to figure out what screw to use with the composite decking I'd just purchased for my outdoor shower when I came upon these. Worked perfectly. If my wife ever convinces me to build a deck off the back of our house, I'll be using these.

These screws match the clam trek boards perfectly! Comes with a bit and these screws produce a 1/4 hole for matching plugs not included.

Generally good

I would give it 5 stars if the head was mor rigid. When you tighten it by drilling, sometimes the head is ruined and you can’t tighten nor loosen it.

Countersunk very well. However, it was easier than it should have been to strip the head of the screw.

color matched to the gray TREX

I used this to secure trex to a deck, stairs, and a ramp. Its color matched and easy to install. I went right through the top of the trex, no hidden fasteners.

No complaints, would use again.

Whether pre-drilled or straight in these seem like extremely high quality screws. Love the reverse thread at the end to pull the trex scraps in. Would definitely use again.

Works as intended. Requires careful installation

Used these screws to install Trex decking in areas that wouldn’t accommodate their proprietary spacers. Overall they worked well, but when we made a mistake, backing out the screw and re-driving it weakened the joint. We ended up re-cutting another trex board to size, drilling new countersunk pilot holes, and trying again.
