Not Very Sturdy

My original air gap was copper, but it has a sharp lip that cut the dishwasher drain hose. I couldn't find another copper air gap quickly, so I installed this plastic air gap. It's not very sturdy. After I mounted the air gap and tried to attach hoses, just pulling on the end would cause enough flex in the air gab that the plastic nut just a few threads and came loose. It will work it your are careful.

Not a lot of choices in store. Air Gap

This will make sure your dishwasher drain can breath. Some people claim the threaded portion is not beefy enough. I watched a professional plumber install this. He put lots of teflon thread tape on the threads when he installed it. No problems. It works as advertised.

Easy installation

It took me 10 minutes to install this air gap, including hose connections. The air gap cap is plastic and doesn't cover the white rubber washer that forms a water seal between the air gap and the countertop. I separately ordered a metal stainless steel cap that matches the finish of the sink faucet and covers the entire top of the air gap including the white rubber washer.

Solid and Reliable

I bought this last month and it is holding strong. The install was easy and the material is sturdy so as to not strip when torquing.

Sink upgrade

This is one of the several items I replaced in my sink upgrade. The photo shows the new faucet (rated in another text) and air gap. It matched the sink and faucet was a good price.
