Replacement item

This thing was difficult at best to get installed straight. I reused my hose. I also had to replace some pipe. I should have replaced the hose. And added a bit more length to it.

You get what you pay for

This was the cheap choice when I looked for an air gap to install my new dishwasher, and yes I used cheap instead of inexpensive on purpose. The whole assembly is just a little lacking. The fit and finish is poor. Most important is that a very low quality soft plastic was used to if you try and tighten it down to make it solid at the sink the threads don't hold. I guess I should have known that you get what you pay for.

Reach for the gap

My dishwasher hose was too short to reach the disposal. An employee at the store mentioned the air gap became a code requirement 6 months prior, so I got one, and a short drain hose. It solved the problem of the short hose not being long enough to reach the disposal...and now everything works without leaks. The one drawback is that I had to attach the hoses to the wrong inlets because the hose from the machine doesn't fit the one it is supposed to be connected to--so the drainage from the dishwa...

Dishwasher Air Gap works just fine

Replacing our old Air Gap with this one worked just fine. It fit properly the first time installing. This was not a major task to accomplish. And trust me, I'm not mechanically inclined at all. For $7 bucks, it really helped my dishwasher operate as if it were brand new. The person who complained about this, in my opinion, had a little too much time on his hand.

DO NOT BUY

This air gap (like others by the same manuf.) is absolute garbage. The gasket is a joke, it's way too small for a standard bored sink hole. It collapses inside with minimal mounting pressure. Buy another brand, and save yourself the back ache of repairing it twice. I spoke to the lowes salesman who said he'd never heard of any trouble? Maybe it's because sales and returns are seperate departments. Check other reviews of this manuf. air gaps... you'll find the same complaint.
