What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this exterior patching compound for exceptional durability, ease of application, and versatility across diverse surfaces including fiber cement, vinyl, wood, stucco, and metal. Reviewers consistently describe it as creamy, ready-to-use, and simple to spread and smooth with minimal sanding. Many note repairs have held up for years through storms and weathering where previous products failed. The quick drying time allows painting the same day, and users report achieving smooth finishes by dampening surfaces after application. A few mention storage consistency issues, but most consider it a reliable, high-performance solution.

Used once a year or so ago. Just went to use it again and it was expectedly clogged, was able to unclog the nozzle, but the rest of the product inside is the consistency of water. Can't use it to fill holes on a vertical surface. :(

Use a paint or solid color stain over patched area
Would RecommendEasy to work it into the rotted areas. Dries firm. Used this product to restore all the rotted areas on my deck after pressure washing. Areas treated with a wood hardner first then filled with the Platinum patch, easy to mold with putty knives to the contour of the boards. Stained with a semi-solid stain that did not cover well on the patched areas. Next time will use a solid color stain.

Excellent results
Used the product from the tub, not the tube, and achieved excellent results filling various gouges and holes in exterior wood siding. As one reviewer mentioned, once cured it can be difficult to sand. I did one side of the house two years ago and the areas where Platinum Patch had been used have held up perfectly.

Great stuff
Would RecommendUsed as a leveling compound over OSB and plywood. Nice fine compound. Easy to feather in. Readily adheres to both surfaces. Sets up quick. Easy to sand and paint. Though its a couple bucks more than the cheaper Flexible patch it fills at least twice the area compared to the gritty inferior Flexible patch - which does not feather because of the sharp, gritty sand filler.

Best Exterior Spackling Ever
Would RecommendThis product is the best I have ever used for extending the life of wood decks, steps and handrails that have developed cracks ( both on the surface and the ends and sides , like the edges of hand rails and the ends of balusters that catch water) but are still structurally sound. I apply one coat of my solid latex stain to act as a primer, then I use a flexible 4" putty knife to work it into the cracks and scrape it off flush. It isn't always necessary to sand after it dries but sanding can make...
Worth the cost over lesser priced products
Would RecommendNice consistency if container kept well closed. Drys hard, yet sands relatively easily.

Good Spackle Patch
Would RecommendDecent filler product. Unsure how it will do in exterior applications, but holds its form well. Requires overnight drying time.

Great for ALL patching needs
Would RecommendOutstanding for patching outdoor materials. I have patched cracks & holes in hardboard, filled holes in concrete, sealed crevices where bugs could enter and even patched holes in my fiberglass fountain bowls. I now use Platinum Patch for all indoor patching and spackling.

multi-purpose
Would RecommendThis is a great product indoor and out. I use it for all types of indoor trim. It is great to fill any voids, joints that are not perfect, and nail holes. I would say it is easy to sand, and if it gets a little thick, add a little water. I prefer it a bit on the looser side and have not been disappointed. I have used it on dry wall to patch holes. It makes them invisible. Can't go wrong.
Tube too difficult to squeze
Would Not RecommendIn frustration I cut open the tube to gain easy, efficient access to the spackle. If as in a previous comment the manufacturer claims "old shelf life" then I would suggest " use by " date on the tube. Would not buy the tube ever again.

Oh heck yes
Would RecommendWe loved it. We filled in a rotted corner with it.

OK for small repairs.
Would Not RecommendWorks ok on small cracks and depressions, but cracks on deeper holes even when you layer it up.
