What Customers Are Saying
Customers praise the pink-to-white color-change feature for eliminating guesswork about drying time, and many highlight smooth application and low dust during sanding. Most report excellent results for small repairs and beginner projects, with several achieving professional finishes using thin coats. However, a substantial group reports serious adhesion problems, particularly when bedding joint tape, with tape failing to stick or peeling off. Many also experienced drying delays exceeding 24 hours and excessive shrinkage. Despite these drawbacks, most customers find the color-change feature invaluable for DIY work.

joint compound
Would RecommendThe compound went on smoothly, dried without shrinkage, sanded easily. Everything you expect from the larger tubs, but made for small jobs.

Quick and easy mudding
Would RecommendMakes the finishing much easier not having to get the mixture right. Ready to go right out of the tub.

FABULOUS STUFF
Would RecommendWorks very well for the average DYI weekend drywaller! Low or no dust when sanding with a rented Porter Cable sanding machine. Way better than traditional drywall mud for smaller jobs. Dried fairly quick....color change a real help in that regard.

Drydex
Would RecommendWorks great, goes on smooth, more like a “finishing” compound. Best stuff I’ve used. Easy to apply.

Worst Product Ever Used
Would Not RecommendPerhaps I expected too much. Working on a remodel project purchased to repair nail holes, scratches and seams. the product flowed out of even the smallest holes after tow days of drying time the larger cracks are still soft. Went and purchased a different product I have previously used. Spent the morning removing the "pink stuff" and refilling the repairs.

Very good product
Would RecommendCompound goes on easily, covers well and the best part is you can level it with a damp sponge. I used a large heavy duty sponge. smoothed evenly and no sandpaper dust on everything.

light sanding
Would Recommendthis is great for time management. goes on pink, dries white, giving you the ability to move on to other aspects of your project and know exactly when it's ready to sand.

Joint Compound
Would Not RecommendI was very disappointed. I have used this product previously and it worked nicely. This new product did not perform well. Sanding dust was less but strength was weak. After sanding when painting some of the compound pulled off the tape. I am returning for a refund.

Had to scrape off and restart project
Would Not RecommendThe stuff wouldn’t dry after days and was severely cracking. Customer support was of no help and they can’t explain what happened. They offered to refund the cost of the stuff but doesn’t make up for the lost time and extra labor to remove and restart project.

style of repair compound must be applied in multiple thin layer (to build up to a 1/2" fill depth). As indicated on the ALEX PLUS Spackling product package guidance: "One application is usually sufficient for small repairs. For repairs deeper than 1/8”, apply two or more layers allowing spackling to dry between applications."
