Ratings & Reviews for CRAFTSMAN Handheld Spreader 5-lb Capacity Compatible with Ice Melt, Salt, Fertilizer, Seed

Craftsman spreader

Works great grass seeds spread evenly and fertilizer with ease. I love it.

Great versatile addition to V20 line

I’ve been using this handheld spreader for light lawn care of about an 1/4 acre. Overall, it’s a solid and needed addition to Craftsman’s V20 lineup. The capacity is just right for a handheld unit to cover smaller areas without constantly refilling, but still light and easy to handle. I also liked the build quality. It feels durable and comparable to some of their other tools. The weed and feed I used did get in some of the crevices but nothing to where it would impede the operation. It gets th...

Durable and convenient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spreader is super lightweight. The quality is amazing and durable and it provides even distribution no matter if I am using grass seed, salt or ice melt. It is convenient in all seasons, I spend a significantly less amount of time on yard work now that I have this spreader,

For smaller lawns but does the job.

Purchased this to fulfil a couple of needs. One being a greater looking lawn the convenience of a hand held tool. And second i recently sold all my other tools n strictly purchasing craftsman 20v power tools ONLY. Product is awesome i highly recommend.

It has different distance seed spray options

I like that it's hand held and realtors easily portable

Handy and easy to use.

Holds a good amount of fertilizer. Was able to do entire 8000 sq ft lawn with only one refill. Compact size easy to store.

Trust me, you will return it.

I was excited to get this since I have so many 20 V craftsman tools. But it’s basically useless. I’ve tried it on both grass seed and fertilizer in both cases. It throws way too much seed… even on the lowest setting. On top of that, it doesn’t feed well, so you have to stop and shake it to feed it . I never leave reviews, but this thing is terrible. It’s way overpowered, heavy and throws way too much seed or fertilizer even on its lowest setting. It’s going back today.

Great for Small Lawn Jobs

I’ve been really happy with this CRAFTSMAN handheld spreader for fertilizer. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and works well for smaller lawn areas where a bigger spreader would be too much. The crank turns smoothly and it spreads fairly evenly once you get the hang of it. The 5-lb capacity is a good size for quick applications and touch-ups without being heavy to carry around. It feels sturdy enough for regular home use and is easy to store when you’re done.

Size, power, and speed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What an unexpectedly great addition to my gardening arsenal. Size, power and speed! This makes spreading seed and plant food a breeze. The compartment is large and covers the area at the adjusted speed needed. I truly like that I can adjust the speed it spits out and the amount I’m dropping at the same time. Distribution is even and gave great coverage, I am surprised how well it spreads out. The only down fall is the weight, alone it’s got a n...

Great quality with easy use

Works great, like everything else in their V20 lineup. Takes up so much less room than my traditional spreader and is so easy to handle.

Nice gift for any gardening

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My brother is getting into gardening and this made a great gift for him. This seeder/spreader is lightweight and easy to hold. It is hard plastic and approximately 2 feet by 1 foot. It holds about 1 gallon of whatever you desire. To use, just attach the battery and you are ready to go. Use for seeds or fertilizer. We live in Texas so don't really need to use salt for ice but would work well. There are multiple settings from fast to slowe...

4 season more like never stop needing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is awesome! I used it for spreading salt on sidewalks on an icy day, cinders on a driveway, fertilizer in the flower beds and grass seed in the yard. For a battery operated to it is very light weight and super easy to use without your arms getting tired. Not only can you control the size of product you are using but you can control the speed at which it spreads it too! This is going to be used a lot!

Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seed spreader. No setup required and easy to use. Just snap in the battery and fill with sead or fertilizer. You could even use salt in this for winter time. Adjustable for desired flow of product. This is light weight and just the right side for hand held.

Great product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is great. It’s great for seeds and salt. We had a lot of snow and this came in handy. It’s easy to use and change the settings. It’s not battery operated so you don’t have to worry about it losing power.

Mighty v20 craftsman spreader

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This v20 craftsman spreader, was a real timesaver, I used it to spread ice melt on the sidewalk instead of doing it by hand, I’m really impressed by the standards craftsman uses when making there products, I’m really excited to use this in the spring for sowing grass seed I believe it will be up to the test

Great for any season!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I honestly fell in love with this Craftsman seeder/ spreader. It is honestly so easy to use. You basically pour your seeds, or salt, depending on the season/ weather. I have ised it onboth actually. I used it prior to an ice storm. It worked perfectly. It evenly spread the salt across my driveway. I recently was able to use it this past weekend with grass seeds on my lawn. With the adjustable speed setting making it fast and easy. It holds u...
