yes, it can do small jobs.
Would Recommendprobably wouldn't use it for larger logs, but for the smaller, up to 6" or so, it works well. its much lighter than a gas saw, so less hard on the arms and back. I also think its safer too. Gas saws can be finicky to start or restart when hot.
