Would RecommendUnlike some other extenders, this one will extend a good inch past the old box. I needed 3/4” past my old box to allow for the new lumber wall covering that we added. This extender fit and works great. No gaps or open edges. Very easy to use.

Would RecommendThis is an extender the fits inside an existing box to extend it further after adding thick wall treatment, such as paneling, tile, etc. This is very handy for extending an existing box to provide code required non-flammable coverage of the existing box. However, they are very expensive: $5 at my local Lowes.
