The plastic old world electrical box extender does the job, but it feels like it’s missing the locking tabs that would make installation more secure. I was able to make it work, but it took some extra effort to get it to stay in place. Once installed it functions fine, but the design could definitely be improved for easier use.

It would have been nice if the screws were longer.

Poor design

I added .75 wainscoting to a wall, so O had to extend a couple of outlets and bought these. Terrible design- it a few humps and lumps on the outside of the box which blocked me from inserting into the old box. Plus the screws that came with them were too short, and the way it was designed blocked my view of the holes in the wall box. I tried another brand from HD, and those had smooth sides, had much longer screws, fit into the old box easily and I could see the holes I needed to screw into. W...

Worked well, but buy longer screws

This box was easy to install and worked as advertised. It brought my box flush with the interior of a new cabinet that was installed over the old outlet. HOWEVER, the screws included with the box are only as long as the depth of the extender and are useless if you need the full depth of the extension. I bought 2" 6 x 32 pan head machine screws (Item 409478) that were long enough to go through the extender and well into the old box. So, I had to spend an additional $3 for screws. Pretty pric...

So not Buy it!!!

This extension is crap. 1st: no instructions. 2nd: The holes to attach to an "Old Work" box are the same holes that hold the box in the wall. The screws included do not extend past the extension so I do not know how you are going to secure it to the box. You need 3" #6 screws to make this work. 3rd: If you get this attached, it is not stable. There should be a flange of some typr to rest against the original elec box.

I bought these to extend the outlet boxes, and switch boxes on my kitchen walls so I can put up a back splash for my Wife

Poor Value & Didn't Work For My Application

High priced compared to a single gang box and not designed to accommodate 3/4 inch thick backsplash material...Returned.
