What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these electrical box extenders for bringing outlets flush with new wall surfaces like drywall, tile, and paneling. Most find installation quick and straightforward using just a screwdriver, with many describing the product as well-made and durable. Reviewers consistently report the extenders work perfectly for remodels and depth adjustments, extending boxes by about an inch. Some mention the included screws are too short and require purchasing longer 6-32 pan head screws separately. Despite minor hardware concerns and occasional compatibility issues, the vast majority consider the product reliable and effective for their renovation needs.

Would Not RecommendThis extension is crap. 1st: no instructions. 2nd: The holes to attach to an "Old Work" box are the same holes that hold the box in the wall. The screws included do not extend past the extension so I do not know how you are going to secure it to the box. You need 3" #6 screws to make this work. 3rd: If you get this attached, it is not stable. There should be a flange of some typr to rest against the original elec box.

Buy longer screws
Would Not RecommendIt sort of works, but the screws included don't reach and the value just isn't there, it's difficult to work with but seems to be the only option.

Include the proper length screws!
Would Not RecommendIt's a nearly $6 (Jan 2025) specialty piece of plastic, so it better be ready to perform the convenience charge function without disruption. The included screws are too short. If it sits flush on the existing single gang box, the included screw should be LONGER than the depth of the box to secure outlet and extender. Why is that difficult for the engineering/manufacturing team to understand?!
Good extender.
Would RecommendIt fits like a glove in the outlet.

The work but seem priced a little high.
Would RecommendThese extender boxes worked great. Most of my existing back boxes for the light switches and electrical outlets are too short in that they are not flush with the face of the wall. Probably due to the wall having double sheet rock. So the edge of the box is about 5/8" shy of the face of the wall. I bought 3 of these extender boxes and they worked to add the extra 5/8" I needed. These extenders won't add more than about 1" of depth to your box, so they won't work if you need more than that. Also, ...
