Would Not RecommendI couldn't get this to stay connected. Nothing wrong with my wireless network. Then I ended up with four or five IP8720 series on my printer queue. Cartridges ran out quickly. I did like the large scale printing but would never recommend this to anyone.

Bad Setup
Would Not RecommendMy experience does not match reviews. I am currently 3 hours and 45 minutes into troubleshooting this printers setup and I am installing on a 2017 MacBook Pro. I have calmly tried to set up via both manuals offered by Cannon, but am unable to print as of this very moment. The experience has been so frustrating in fact, that I regret it, and will seek an alternative brand solution to my printing needs in the future

Easy to use on a Mac
Would RecommendLove the way this printer prints and set up is easy on a Mac via wireless. (Make sure you use the Canon IJ network driver, though. That way you have access to all your paper sizes). It is also easy to print 12x12" on this printer.

Good to be able to print large photos
Would RecommendI've now had this printer for about two months, and am pleased with it so far. I did not have the problems others reported in setting it up with my Apple desktop. I get very good enlargements to 13x19 and use the printer along with another smaller Pixma MG6320 for different kinds of jobs. In my experience, problems with these machines often don't turn up for some time - and after one has written a review! One problem I do anticipate is running out of ink often and having to pay an exorbita...

Crapped out
Would Not RecommendAfter only a few months, printer won't connect either wirelessly or with USB. Now I'm stuck with a boatload of ink that seems to only work with this printer.

great pictures
Would RecommendUsed daily multiple times and is a hard worker with great quality. Paper quality will affect it though. Ink - can be messy.

Extremely hard to get to work
Would Not RecommendI got this printer about a year to two years ago because I saw someone online who really enjoyed hers for printing pictures. I really wanted to be able to print the larger sized pictures so I thought I would try this out. The setup was a NIGHTMARE. I absolutely could NOT get it to set up from my Mac. My husband couldn't either, and he finally got it to set up using his PC. Now, for some reason, I have THREE "Canon iP8720" printers in my list of printers to select for printing (Series 1, Series 2...

Print Head Will Not Move
Would Not RecommendI bought this approx. 2 years ago and have hardly used it in that time. I have printed maybe 10 pictures and 80 documents. Now the print head is stuck over to the right and will not budge. Telephone tech support tried to help but were unable. Now I have to pay to get it fixed (if it's worth it) and it's barely broken in. My last pixma ip4000 lasted 10 years. I am not happy.

Great Art Prints
Would RecommendJust finished my first set of art poster prints with the pixma iP8720 and they look gorgeous!! I was nervous about the wireless set up because I'd read a few bad reviews but I had absolutely no trouble at all, it was all set up and hooked up within 15 minutes. I'm using 11x17 luster photo paper and they print a lot faster than I would have imagined. So far I'm loving this printer!!

Love this printer!
Would RecommendBought 4 months ago. I love the way the ink tanks are configured! The Black Pigment cartridge is strictly for Text. The printer is smart enough to know when to use it. That saves the Black Dye (photo) ink. Each color is replaced individually, as needed, saving money. All 6 of the ink tanks can use a regular size or an XL (extra capacity) size. The ink goes a long way compared to my previous HP printer and the photos look great. I also love the way the ink cartridges have an LED that flashes when...

Good printer - ink configuration confusing
Would RecommendThe printer is highly rated and works well however ordering ink is made confusing because two (2) black ink cartridges are necessary: a regular-sized black ink cartridge and an XL black ink cartridge: the printer won't work without both cartridges installed and with adequate ink. So if you order your printer with 4 refill cartridges, as I did, you will still find yourself unable to print unless you also ordered a refill XL black ink cartridge. Strangely Canon does not seem to sell a complete ref...

Fast, Nice Quality, No Wireless Success
Very pleased with the quality and speed of printing, however it has never been recognized on our home network Wi-Fi. We can see every other computer and even the neighbor's printer, but not this one. It's almost like the Wi-Fi function was left out completely.

Unable to connect to network
I tried to connect the printer to the network with 2 Mac, 2 PC, 1 iPhone, never connected to the network, the instructions in Spanish are not clear, they say things inconsistent. It's a shame that I have to go back, because if you have very beautiful prints.

Disappointed at CD/DVD print feature
I bought this printer mainly because it was advertised to print directly on blank CD/DVD disks. After struggling with this for a year I have been informed that it only works with Canon's pre-designed templates, not my own label designs. This completely negated my reason for buying this printer. To be fair, it prints great photos and documents with very few problems; however I could have gotten as much good from a much simpler, smaller, and less expensive Canon printer.

V nice - but no Ethernet port else would buy more
Very nice printer - but lack of Ethernet port is a real drawback, and keeps me from buying several more. (Yes I can buy a USB <> Enet interface, but that is a real hassle to manage).

Excellent Primary Printer
I bought this printer to serve as a support and subsequently replacement for my old inkjet printer. This has worked so well that my old inkjet printer has been boxed up for recycling. This is now my one only printer and it is, up to this point, an excellent primary printer. The colors are beautiful and my clients like the results as well. Perhaps later this year, I get another one to add as a support and backup printer.

Photo printer
The Canon Pixma iP8720 is an ideal printer for the serious amateur or professional. Images are very professional looking and rival those of a photo lab print. Installation and operation are very straight forward. Wireless works as advertised. This is a extremely good buy for the investment. As with all printers the original ink supplied with the printer does not last long. However, the quality is worth it.

Great Printer
I purchased the Canon IP8720 when my previous Canon printer started to fail. I contacted Canon directly, and their representative was very helpful, listening to what I wanted and sending me in the right direction. The order department was also helpful, and I received my new Canon printer PLUS many bonuses, in record time. The speed is great and the quality so much better than my previous printer, especially for photographs. Very happy with the printer AND with Canon!

Awesome printer!
I got this for crafting and very impressed with image quality. It is a great printer, and I can even print off my iPad and iPhone! Super easy to use and install and so glad I upgraded to this so I can print larger size prints for projects for all the DIY projects I've pinned on Pinterest! Love, love, love!

A very good wide format printer
Actually I could rate this printer 5 star except for our experience with an earlier Canon printer I bought for my wife. An ip7220 printer. It is so bad that I came close to looking for a printer other than Canon for myself after many years of better luck. Even after Canon replacing the original, it is very slow & noisy preparing to print. And it has a hard time picking up paper from the lower tray if there is any slight irregularity on an edge. My new ip8720 is solid, & quiet as it prepares to p...
