I am happy so far with the quality of the printer but I am mortified at how quickly this machine goes through toner. I bought a Brother because my old printer lasted so long and the toner cartridges lasted a long time even though I was using it for work, a couple of weeks at least. I haven't even had this new printer for a week and the toner cartridge is already empty. No warning, it just stopped printing saying low toner. Print Yield

Printed Pages ISO Standard per cartridge should be divided by 3. Only expect 1/3 of the yield advertised.

Bought New Brother Toner on February 22, 2021. A month and a week later and needs a New one????

All the reviews here say the same thing

Brother, you make an excellent product, so you should just be honest and stand by it. I don't understand why you feel the need to mislead your customers with a toner yield estimate that is nowhere near what anybody gets in real life. Feel free to paste your boilerplate response below.

Cartridge yield 300-400, not 1,200 as stated.

Brother is "at your side" with their hand on your wallet. These toner cartridges are lucky to get to 300-400 pages, not 1,200 resulting in a page cost of approximately 10 cents per page printed with a standard 12 pt Arial font, with no bold, and no graphics/images. The TN-760 is little better at near twice the price. Brothers standard reply seems to be that their cartridge yield is based on ISO testing. The Toner doesn't last long

I bought a brand new Brother printer and I believe I only printed less than 400 pages and now the printer stop working and ask me to replace the toner. Great printer, but it really cost lots of money to replace toner for it.

Great Printer Poor Toner Value

The printer is high quality but I as others am not impressed with the toner yield despite the ISO disclaimer. I've printed 494 pages with an 18% yield. Hardly toner heavy. I've purchased a high yield cartridge to give this another try, but this machine may be to expensive to retain with this cost per print.

Love the printer but NOT THE TONER

Others apparently are getting more pages than I am. Lucky if I got 400.

Misleading Page Yield

This toner prints NO WHERE near 1200 pages. I barely clear 600 pages before I have to purchase more toner. I must say I am a little disappoint because I have only had my printer two months and I have paid for it TWICE already in toner! At least lower the price or give a better product. I would not recommend this printer.

shocked to be out of printer ink ALREADY

I concur with other reviews. I only print out word documents for work and have used around 500 pages. Now I need an expensive printer cartridge. Something is wrong here. Extremely disappointed and will not be recommending this printer

Lasts Way Less than 1200 pages

I concur with everyone else. Shocked to be buying my second toner cartridge in 5 months and I print no more than 100 a month maximum and no large print jobs. Even use the "save toner" setting when printing. Very disappointing because the printer is perfectly functional for my personal home use.

Very misleading claims about page yield

I bought a toner cartridge in late June. I already have to replace the cartridge. During the SEVEN WEEKS that I used the now spent cartridge, I did not print a high volume of pages. I didn't use large fonts or graphics. So please, Brother, don't bother sending me that boilerplate excuse about ISO standards. Make a better product.

What a Rip Off

I print very economically and still did not yield even half of the 1200 sheet as advertised. False advertising.

Disappointed

Total disappointment, printed only around 375 pages while 1200 was promised. I only printed on standard A4 papers. Brother need to refund my money or give me a better printer.

Yield is far below advertised.

I print the equivalent of 4 lines of text on a page, 12pt font. WAY less than an average full page of text. Starter cartridge (Prints 500 pages!) gave low print warning at 425 pages. If I were printing full pages, I'd have been out long ago. Very disappointing. No better yield than my 15 year old inkjet. What IS the ISO standard printed page? 3 lines?

Does not print 1200 pages

I was so excited when I bought my TN 730 because I thought I would be able to print 1200 pages. It printed less than half that amount. I could use the money I spent buying toner to buy another printer. I believe that the company should stop telling us how many pages we can print with the toner.

Toner not lasting

We have really enjoyed our Brother printer, but have been getting Toner Low warnings for a couple of weeks, and we've only printed 481 pages with this starter toner. Shouldn't it have lasted a lot longer than that?

Toner empty after 380 pages

The prints were clean, and without streaks or other ink artifacts. However, the number of pages we were able to print from a new cartridge was surprisingly low. Here's our notification log: 1 Replace Toner Page : 380 2 Toner Low Page : 360 We will try the TN-760 next.

Great printer!

I really like my printer MFC-L271DDW. I think I am getting close to the number of copies of 1200 if not more!. I don't have it set for the darkest level just in the middle.Far cheeper ink than any printer than any I have owned.
